Group Ride (Sat & Sun)

Easy ride up to Alpine with Wes.  We got hit with some nasty rain heading back home on 9W.  Wes flatted right at the end of the bridge and as he changed his tube Harry and Kayt rolled up.  Think we saw one more Kissena kit heading into NJ over the GWB.
Hi Guys,

Any chance anyone that isn't racing wants to ride up to Bear Mountain this weekend? Sat(7/20-7/21)  I'm open to times and route, but I would like to get a nice long ride in at a good pace.  It will be hot, but most of it is a nice shady route.  I'd like to go at 8 or a little earlier from the Brooklyn Bridge.  Let me know if your interested.
I'm up for a Family Man's ride on Sunday.  Will aim for 6 or 6:30 at BB.  Hammerfest.

Me too on Sunday. Peter is having his first birthday party on Sunday so I need to be back home by no later than 10am.
Looks like I have to be back even earlier... might have to make it a (MErDE!) park day...

I want to ride Sunday as well, but not at family man time. 7:30 BK side of BB if anyone's interested. It's supposed to "cool down" by Sunday, like mid 80's.
I'm in for Sunday ride. I might not have the legs for all the way to Bear Mountain, @Dale, but definitely to Piermont. Do you guys ever stop for burgers at the Filling Station place just south of Piermont.
They're delicious. Slows up your return ride, but damn their good.
7:30 works for me, BK side of BB.
coffee and muffins are a stretch . . .
hamburgers are unprecedented
I *may* ride early (family man hour) on Sunday. Will roll up w Brooklyn crew as far as GWB (but won't join the hammerfest-ers)......turning around at Piermont. Burgers in this heat while riding? Tempting, but I wanna keep the paint on my top tube. :)
I had to call off the trip to Hilltowns for work reasons so I'm down to do something. Not sure what. I'd say long slogs upstate (Dale, I like your idea) but man, the heat...I just don't know if it would be any good.
I'm riding Prospect tomorrow. Gonna try to overlap with our racers and do a couple hours of solid endurance+ pace.

Sunday, I'm doing Alpine repeats, preferably early. Would love some company for that one. Holler.
Jeff, what time tomorrow morning?
I'm down for 8am bb
Jeff, I might join on Sunday. Depends on how brutalized I get at T-Town tomorrow.
@Joaquin - Thinking I'm going to try to pace one of the races, so 6.
Jeff - depending on when you leave for Alpine Sunday, I'll roll with you at least up to Ft Lee if that's cool. Won't be doing Alpine tho. Will probably see you in PP tomorrow too - gonna spin around after reg.
I would be interested in the family man ride 6.30 Sunday , don't think I will be able to hang on a hammer feast ,but I know my way home
I'll be in the park tomorrow morning early for a couple of hours of tempo.
Doing some (5) Alpine repeats tomorrow, leaving BB at 7:30.
I'm riding to Piermont, some hills and back. Leaving BB at 6 if someone wants to join...
I'm riding out with Jeff at 7:30 but will likely continue on rather than repeating Alpine.
Jules- what time?

I think I might have to go later in the afternoon. Peter's birthday party shenanigans I think now are going to dominate the morning as well as actual party time. I've got lots of jobs to do tomorrow.

On a side note, I'm kind of bummed to be missing hill repeats with Jeff, because I feel like he and I might be well matched to pound on each other. Unlike say going up hill with Ryan, who I would say goodbye too almost instantly.
Jorge - I think 6 too early for my blood tomorrow. I might try to join Whitey and Ryan at 7:30 as far as Fort Lee, then putter to Piermont and back. Don't wait for me if I'm not at bridge on time.
I'll be BB 7.30
I opted for 10 hours of sleep instead.
I'm going to head out now to spin around PP for an hour or so if anyone wants to join. Sunday in the park pace.
Kitting up now - see you out there.
Good riding today with Ryan, Mark, and Patrick (and Major Taylor friend Ed Oliver). Smooth tempo to Jersey, then we split up. I did my five repeats (ow) and flew home solo. So grateful for the break in the heat. I don't know if I could have done that workout in 90 degree, 60% humidity.
Second Whitey about the heat. It felt downright chilly out there.

I rode up with the crew but turned up to 9W to do sweet spot work after the bridge, since that wouldn't fit in very well with the Alpine repeats plan. I  was followed by Pat, while the rest of the crew headed to River Road. I was riding damn hard and told Pat to stay on my wheel, which he did most of the way to state line. I then waited for him and made him ride up Tweed/Nike. He rides pretty damn strong for a guy who's mostly only ever commuted and never done a single race! We parted ways at Piermont. (I think he was happy to be rid of me!)

I did some more tempo work and then took River Road back, adding a trip up Alpine. 68 miles, home by noon having a soy milk/banana/whole yogurt/almond butter/raw Vermont honey smoothie. Can't beat it.
