Hello Ladies and Gents,
My name's Mike Garrigan, I'm a new member.
I'm currently splitting my time between Brooklyn (moving to Crown Heights next week where Ill be with my well educated wife) and Toronto, Canada where I currently work for Ontario Cycling.
Stoked to be a part of the crew when in town for sure!
Thanks to those I've met so far- The well wishes, support and good vibes are very much appreciated.

Holy Buh-jeezus. If it were possible for Hotlist to be speechless, he would be. Next year's KCC CX championships is going to be fun. 5 lap race, give everyone a 1-lap headstart? Could our club's previous bests hold him off?
Seriously though, welcome aboard Mike!
For club members who haven't been following this year's cross scene too much. You might not know that Mike Garrigan is the dude who routinely made guys like Jeremy Powers and Ryan Trebon work HARD in the opening laps of almost every pro cross race I watched this year. And he will be representing Team Canada at the World Championships. That's right, those World Championships.

My name is Chris Pedersen and I moved to Brooklyn 3 years ago from Northern California. I live in Lefferts Garden and have been riding the park and commuting to work since I moved here. Looking forward to riding a ton of miles, meeting some nice people, and racing.

Hello! New member here, decided to begin racing after hitting the limits of enjoyment I can derive from Strava and solo laps of Prospect Park. I live in Brooklyn Heights, at least until I graduate from Brooklyn Law in June, and hope to regularly attend the 9W rides as well as every race I can once the season starts. (When they say 8AM at the Brooklyn Bridge, where exactly do they mean? That tiny little area on the Brooklyn side of the bridge? Or the park on the other side with the bike path going through the pedestrian walkway? On the bridge itself. deftly avoiding errant tourists?)
Until I get some kit and hook up with a 9W ride, find me in Prospect Park wearing a nuclear-neon hi-vis jacket in the afternoons/evenings, or after dark with a headlight that might be even brighter than my jacket. Critics of this jacket color should note that it has contributed to a 200% reduction in pre-ride death-predictions ("you're going to die because no one can see you") from my girlfriend, thereby enhancing my overall cycling experience. I ride a blue and orange CAAD10 with white wheels. There's another guy with the same bike (apparently Cannondale made more than one, who knew) but black wheels. No word on whether his loved ones have bullied him into a fluorescent jacket.

BB meetup is at the little concrete onramp area on the Brooklyn side of the bridge. We try to stay to one side so as not to clog it up too much. If you're more than four or five minutes late, you should just haul ass over the bridge and up the West Side bike path, because we're probably already gone!

Here's another new member..just joined after the new member ride last Saturday. It was great to meet a few of the KCC guys and some of the new guys as well. I live in Astoria, Queens and ride, pretty much, anywhere there is a road (and sometimes where there is none..). Hoping for a great 2013 season for everyone. I look forward to seeing, and being a member of, KCC on the road.

1) What does "Fred" mean?? I like Rapha stuff and was jealous when I saw Owens' Rapha gloves and jacket at our Christmas bash. Am I friends with Fred? I also have a bit of a love affair with neon colours at the moment, notably neon yellow.
2) How on earth do you mofos find and use all these images in your posts. Firstly, I don't think i can even get a picture on the forum as I am incompetent. My forum highlight thus far has been changing my profile pic to that desert squirrel (not sure that's a real animal, may have made it up). Do you have an image library? Do you make them? Do you have a computer algorithm that you put in your 'meaning' and it produces a picture.
Why is this happening.

re: images, you're right . . . I do have a special computer algorithm that translates meaning into pictures. It is hilarious and easy to use. Check it out and start being seen as the savvy internet jokester the Gypsy told your mother you'd grow into.

i am happy to see such revelry afoot...and that another BLS alum rides road bikes!
i'll do my best to make this saturday's BB ride. but 8am is the earliest i've woken up in some time. oh well, time to readjust. i guess bike racing favors the early-riser
@WilliamDC that is great image algorithm. everyone should look into it. it would really enhance the overall quality of forum discourse.
