Hello Kissena! its only been a week since our first ride together, I am liking the vibe so far. Anywho im John...a third generation Brooklyn native, avid adventurer, & beer brewing cyclist. After undergrad I moved back to the hometown, sold my car, & bought a bicycle. Its been love ever since, have been becoming exponentially more & more obsessed with cycling so this was the obvious next step. looking forward to meeting you all!
Hey y'all. My name is Max Thorn. I'm a lifelong rider (including a recent tour from Vancouver to San Diego), though I'd never pinned on a number until I entered a couple late-season CX races this year. I know I'm looking forward to more mud and barriers next autumn, but there's plenty to enjoy in the meantime: training, road racing, and meeting club members.
Hey Everybody, I'm Sam. Cyclist, builder, architect, etc. Been living in the city for about 6 years now, recently moved to Brooklyn. I think I'm about to fall down the rabbit hole with racing ... we'll see! I ride bikes, motorbikes, and have a thing for going fast. Looking to improve, and work hard. Anybody have a unicycle they wouldn't mind lending me to learn on?
Welcome to all 5 of you (John, Sam, Max, Kaley, Ola) who joined this past week during my vacation! I should go out of range of cell phone service and wifi more often as that seemed to trigger the influx of new members
Hello Kissena, I'm James and I'm British. I've been in the US since September and was in Dallas until a few weeks ago. I was on the meet Kissena ride on Saturday and had a great time (thanks all). I really just love to ride bikes but am hoping to race on the track this year (I could only bring one bike), unless someone can do me a deal on a used road bike for the summer....?
W'sup James! Thanks for all your help on the Meet Kissena Ride; you helped turn what could have been a really annoying mechanical problem into something that turned out to be pretty fun. See you soon!
my name is Giacomo, 33yrs old from Italy. I am an architect and moved to NYC roughly 2 years ago -last summer finally I decided to get back on a bike and enjoy this great place.- Back in Italy I used to be in a small amateur team, racing occasionally during the season. I hope to get all of you soon and ride km and kms together.
So I'm a bit overdue with this, but hopefully this is a formality, since I've had the pleasure of riding with many of you (this past Sunday) and racing with some others.
My name is Eddie & began meeting Kissenas last August round Redbeards & at the final races in Prospect Park. Searching for structure in my training & group rides, it wasn't long before I realized I'd be training and racing with Kissena in 2016. With that said, as this is a pretty tightly knit community, I hope to call many of you friends at some point.
Looking forward to this season, growing together with some of the other CAT 5s on the road and possibly at the velodrome, and most importantly working together!! Heres me bothering Ilya earlier tonight:
Forgot to mention, Kasia & Ilya asked me to be a RB Ambassador this year, so if you catch me in RB kit please say hello!!
If you were on the Meet Kissena ride on 2/27, you'll remember me as the guy who had the pleasure of being towed Madison style to Strictly Bicycles, after having the good fortune of getting street trash stuck in his derailleur, ripping it off the hanger.
I've done no racing at all, just a few century tours here and there. I'm doing the NYCC B-SIG for the next several weeks so you won't be seeing me on weekend rides until after that – but if early morning laps in the park (or commuting from Windsor Terrace to Midtown for that matter) are your thing, I'll see you there!
