Welcome Ben!!!
Hi all

My name is Andreas. From Copenhagen, Denmark. After a super welcome at Meet Kissena this Sunday it is fantastic to now be a member of the club!

Have been riding for a while with a few longer social rides and triathlons, but never any proper racing. So, excited that I already managed to sign up for the upcoming races in Prospect Park this next and following weekends (cat 5). Though also fully expecting to make every tactical mistake in the book.

Really looking forward to learn how to race, to get my hands on one of those uber cool Kissena outfits (until then I am typically in dark blue 'Lamont' gear, my Danish club), and to meet and get to know at the very least those of you also racing and training in PP / taking part in the NYC-area weekend rides.

Welcome Andreas - you're going to love it here!
Welcome Andreas!
Welcome Andreas!
Welcome Andreas! Great riding with you last week. Looking forward to seeing you in the races!
Hey there everyone,

My name is Nubbs,

I found my way to Brooklyn from Chicago via Virginia, Washington DC, and a few other stops along the way.  I started cycling about 4 summers ago while living in the Washington DC area. It all happened by accident as I never meant for it to take such a hold in my life. It was just away to get around. Next thing you know I had a MTB, a Road Bike, a Crit bike, a single speed along with more parts than I knew what to do with. I found that cycling was therapeutic and filled the need for competition that i lost when i retired from racing cars for a living.

Since moving to Brooklyn there seemed to be something missing from my cycling and I was losing my desire to ride as much. Thats when it dawned on me that I missed the groups I rode with in DC. The groups that were fun to hang with but also pushed each other to get better and faster. Being that I spend most of my rides in Prospect Part Kissena jumped out at me right away as a possible group to look into.

I ran into Lt. Dan on a Thursday during a cool down lap and on Friday I was riding with some amazing people who were everything I was looking for, Knowledgable, helpful, funny, passionate about riding and from the Brooklyn area.

Im really looking forward to riding with and meeting all of you.

See you soon,

What a great intro Dan! Welcome to the club.
Welcome Dan. Good to ride with you on Friday. See you on the road.
Welcome Nubbs!
Welcome Nubbs,

Great riding with you on Friday. Look forward to seeing you out more.
Hey all,

I'm Sebastian - originally from South Florida, but have lived in New York for 6 years now. Went out for a Meet Kissena ride this past weekend and had a great time!

Biking and competition have always been in my life in some capacity, but now is the first time I'm combining the two. I rode a track bike around the city since I arrived, and upgraded to a road bike this past spring.

Been going out for the odd group ride on the weekends, and Prospect Park laps weekday mornings (the latter being where I kept seeing these fast guys in Kissena kit). Hoping to start racing in the near future - was going to race in Prospect Park last month but wasn't able to due to a series of fallen trees.

Looking forward to getting to know & riding with everyone!

Sebastian

Welcome Sebastian!
Hey Sebastian.
Welcome!
You kick ass on those hills!! Welcome Sebastian.
welcome sebastian!
Hey Everyone!

My name is Marcus, I moved to Brooklyn earlier this year from Vancouver to get some work and life experience in New York.  I joined the group ride last Saturday and it was great to meet some of you - something I should of done months ago.  Nevertheless I am eager to get into a good training program and hope to work on improving my conditioning from a commuter/casual road rider to a little bit quicker road rider/racer by next road season.

I will be around Prospect Park in the mornings during the week and hope to join more group rides and support the team moving forward.

See you on the road.

Welcome to Kissena Sebastian & Marcus it was good seeing you out in the park in the morning yesterday!
My dad sent me a bunch of old photos from NZ. From a Pro-Am criterium (back then we had separate pro and amateur bike clubs).

SO MUCH FUCKING LOOK SHARP PRO.
Campy delta brakes, downtube shifters, box section rims and Brancale leather hairnets.

Looks like you're ready to drop the hammer on that poor guy behind you.
Welcome Sebastian and Marcus.
John - what the what?!?
So fing pro.
@Dan Actually, that guy and I were in a break for most of the race. He had more left in the tank and beat me in a two-up sprint. #toomanyattacks

And he did it on a noodle--a screwed and glued Vitus aluminum frame.

Pardon my Kiwi, but that kit (kinda want to call it a get-up) is the fucking dream.
And for the record, that's the first time I've ever seen John's legs.
