^ wait a second! Dr. White is double dipping in the New Member thread!
I call Shenanigans!

I'm looking forward to riding and racing with all of you.  A little about myself, I'm an engineer from Maine.  I began road racing in 2008-2009, but had to take time off the bike due to Lyme's.  I returned to road, cross, and mountain bike racing in 2015 and have been competing constantly.  My partner, Britney, is a budding track racer and I'd like your help in getting her signed up.

My goal in 2018 is to learn as much as possible from your coaches and experienced team members so that I can get my Cat 2 license.  I hear there's maybe 10 of you who all go mountain biking together?  I also dig XC skiing.

Kind regards,
Sean

Welcome, Sean!

My new MTB is being built at Redbeard as we speak, so I’m ready to get braaaaaap real soon ✌
Welcome to the club Sean!!!
Welcome Sean.
Anybody have a size medium kit or two that they'd be willing to part with for cash?  Maybe something from last season.

Thanks!
Sean
Hey everyone!

I just joined up and I'm looking forward to racing and riding with Kissena this season. I went on a few of the Meet Kissena rides earlier in the year and decided to join up since we're moving to Brooklyn Feb 1st.

I raced for Voodoo Racing in Austin, TX for 5 years doing a mix of crits, road races, and time trials. The weekly Driveway crit series is where I really cut my teeth as a racer. Since my strength is in time trials more than sprinting, my job was to chase things down and make wild fake attacks to help set up my teammates. Great fun.

I've lived in NYC for just a year and still adjusting to life as a cyclist here. Let's riiiiiiiide!

Trying to look cool after a bad injury in the last CRCA club race of the season. The cane is not for show:

One of the few times a photographer got an image that made me look cool on the bike:

That time I got to ride with Lance Armstrong when he joined us on the Mellow Johnny's 100k ride.

Fort Lee crit. Trying to bridge to the lead group.

Welcome John! Look forward to riding with you
Welcome to the club John!!!
Disappointed that the cane was not for show as swag adds at least 30 watts to FTP
"Fake attacks" are my stock in trade so you'll have to get in line for those...otherwise welcome aboard and enjoy the Kissena club culture.  We are a club that has been around so long that we've seen fondue become cool, not cool, cool again, not cool again and finally...wait for it....cool
Yack

That's definitely the first time I've been welcomed to a team with a mention of fondue. Glad to be here!
Welcome John, look forward to seeing you out on the road.

Nice to join John!  I'm in Houston currently, mixing it up in the Memorial Park Crits ... I hope to make it to Driveway sometime this year

Hi guys,

Hope everyone had a good Sunday and managed to catch the Roubix stage and Les Blues victory in the football (soccer). I've met a couple of you guys on a meet up ride and when spending time in the park - this is my first venture into joining a cycling club after retiring from playing rugby (if not obvious from the above - I'm British/from Liverpool). I've been cycling for fun for a couple of years, and after a couple of tri's, some long distance running and an Etape I decided that it was time to give racing a proper go. Raced in a couple of the Cat 5's this year and looking forward to seeing everyone at the park and out on the road.

Cheers,

Rich

PS - I no longer have the hair and normally have my jersey zipped up.

The British invasion of Kissena continues!
Pretty soon it's going to be post-race Tea, not coffee ;)

Welcome Rich ,
Everton or Liverpool?
Welcome aboard! Glad to have you on the team!
Welcome Rich!
Thanks guys - I'm a bluenose / toffee (I support Everton).

Sorry ;)
As these things go, I'm reading a book just now that mentions that the Everton pitch is the oldest continually used in the world. Of course the author went on to mention (lovingly) that everywhere in the world by default has a more modern facility.
Welcome aboard Rich look forward to seeing you out there!
Welcome Rich. I’m sorta sorry you don’t have the long hair anymore. Reminds me of Gert-Jan Thunisse.

Hi everyone,

Another Brit here. I’m from Scotland but have been in New York for the last 3 years. I joined a few group rides in Central Park (thanks, Will) and decided to commit and join the club.

I have been cycling on-and-off for years and I did a few races in college, but nothing since then other than tri / running. I’m looking forward to signing up for some road races before the end of the season.

I don’t have any pics of me riding… but here’s a pic from Tallman a few weeks ago:

Looking forward to meeting you all.

Sam

Welcome Sam! For those of you who have yet to ride with Sam, he's a serious wattage cottage #sandbaggingtime
