But Yacks. Badassness towards yellow headphones is up 12 points. You rock.

Yacks also wins prize for most original slam on my old racing equipment. The obvious target is my 17-year-old bike...but no. He takes a look at my early generation PT and asks, "Can you do tricks with that Duncan Yoyo?"

He also gets First Prize for the best in-race hand signals (check the first few minutes of Brendan's video)
It was an eventful morning....
a chronological depiction of events....

Visuals of @Jules' favorite moment. Congrats @eragot! And thank you, gentlemen, for the fastest lap of my life. Can't wait to attack next spring after a winter riding with you all.

you knew this moment would arrive!  gopro from the race: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dROeKREkSMk
1. Thanks for posting vids.  Your sacrifice of MOAR AERONESS to record and share vids of races is much appreciated.

2. If you can swing another GoPro and hook up the 3D capabilities we might have something here.  Like imagine a giant Yacks middle finger coming out of the screen?  Totally sweet.

3. Though on second thought I'm not sure about wide angle lens view of all the posteriors that would be on screen the other 90% of the time.
I'd like to see the faces instead, as we grimace in pain trying to hold onto Brendan's wheel...

you should have seen my face!  it would do nicely as the illustration in "hypoxia: a clinical guide"
this comes to mind

I posted a bunch of photos to Flickr. Here is the best shot of the team - though where is Rene looking?

Oh man, the photoshop opportunities...but must sleep...
I would be remiss if I did not mention that the winning bike was made of..........wait for it....................aluminum !  Made in the U.S.A to boot.   Take that all you Chinese plastic lovers !!!!!
I would point out as reigning Road and Cyclocross Champion, errr, the CX bike is made of plastic. ;-(
But I love my Made in USA CAAD9

Oh jeesh...get a load of this guy now...Todd, keep training okay? Someone needs to check this dude.

JK, luv ya Rag-man!
Hey, it's not as if I'm wearing a club champion jersey around or something.
Have you seen the videos of my win? They are awesome.  I can watch them all day.

Peacocking 4 up5 down
Generally when someone makes it blatently obvious that they are proud of something, like a peacock opening up its feathers. The term is used to state when someone is beginning to get annoyed at the person who is arrogantly proud.
Male 1: did you see how many girls I got with last night!?

Male2: Dude, they were all relatively ugly.

Male1: I could have slept with all of them if I wanted too.

Male2: Jesus christ, stop peacocking!
Malcolmson...when he realized letting Ragot go up the road was a bad idea......
I think peacocks are blue.
So when are we doing a KCC club track championship ? Some sort of 75 lap points race death march ? Ragot v Hotlist v Andy, I can see it now.
The thread is losing steam. Watch the videos again. Keep the memories alive.
the thread is dead. that race have me rhabdomyolysis.
Wolverines never die!
upon reviewing my gopro footage, i see that you hid in the bushes until the final lap.  i'm contesting.  15 minutes or 15 days?

#MonsterWattsforAnOldMan

855w for 30 sec to finish the race. I'll take it.

Over 1100w for 20. Just under 1000w for 25sec. I think I eased off at the end after that. My Golden Cheetah is being a bit wonky, so detailed analysis isn't going so well.

Although WDC would vigorously object to how close I was to pulling of the surprise win of the year, I'm going to take Ragot's power numbers as a compliment to me. LOL. Seriously though. If you watch the GoPro video, I attack on the right a second or two after Alyosha gives up, then I get my gap. I'm off the front, overtake a fading R.J. It's a full 10-seconds before the Ragot freight train reacts.

And if watch some of the other finish line videos, you see that Ragot passes the start finish line just about 5 seconds in front of me. From the start of my attack to when I crossed the finish line is a total of about 40 seconds. My max watts of the race came in that time frame, 1007 watts. And I did not hold it that long...my PT interface kind of sucks but it looks like I only ended up averaging 500 watts for 49 seconds which explains why I faded to 5th on the day.

But here's my point: All you guys who insist that you are non-sprinters, often do things like throw crazy long-bomb attacks from 1k out, or kill yourself for 2 minutes before the last lap of the race, figuring that you might as well try something. Well, instead of these "suicide by cop" moves, why not do what I did? It was safe, no argy-bargy and gave me a legit shot at ultimate glory.

For me, the most critical moment of the race came with 3 to go when there was a blistering attack/split up the hill. I nearly imploded in a puddle of flesh and bones getting up to that group. (The very same moment when our videographer seemingly easily made it up to that group incidentally--damn youth and strength!). I remember as I made contact at the top of the hill, that if one person in that front group put in another even moderate effort I would have been OTB immediately and forever. But they didn't, they gave me just enough time to rest and recover and get to gett'n following wheels, staying out of the wind, prepping for what I had determined was inevitable at that point. The bunch sprint.

Turns out at that point in the race our group which started at 35 or so, was down to 14. So I settle in. Who's left? Strong guys. Nothing was getting away at this point. I didn't have to be the first to react to moves off the front, but I didn't want to be at the ass-end of the chasing group either.

I took a shot at it. And came away with 5th. I have pathetic power to weight numbers. My threshold power is something ridiculously low like 260 watts. I weigh a portly 170lbs. And yet, I survived until the end.

Contesting the final sprint is as much about timing and position as it is about power. For me, I almost made the exact right move at the exact right time. Eric's numbers were killer, and his timing was right too. He's a worthy champion. But If Jules, or at least 15 other strong guys on the team, for example, had made the same move I made, he/they might have been club champion instead.
Good insight Marc. If Jules had just waited a lap...

So true. Sadly all the best lessons in life cost so, so much

Jim Nelson and I were gapped on that uphill attack with 3 to go...if we knew you clowns were going to get neutralized we would have kept chasing and likely latched back on...only to be humiliated again in the finale.  Oh never mind...
