Hole shot, then straight downhill (no pun)
- foot through his front wheel and fork (his own) - yanked it out and didn't lose more than a place
- janky front wheel after that (most of the spokes broken) so he pits and
- bars mostly come off second bike
- back to first bike, with a new front wheel - but dry tire (it was raining) and goes down on the next dirt to paved transition
- gets up, and the Di2 is hosed
- Still finishes 16th
So the next time you feel like "if it weren't for bad luck you wouldn't have no luck at all..." keep that story in mind.
Oh, and he apparently nearly lost an eye racing sunday; NEVER go into a CX race without sunglasses - even clear ones.

Great day on two wheels.
The only bummer was getting yelled at by a cop. WHen the guy started yelling at us, Mike wisely suggested we pull over 100 feet up or so, as the road was wider. The copy yelled back "I don't care!" And then he spent 10 minutes letting off steam on us. Kind of want to send his town a bill for psychological consultation.

Yeah, the Reno, NJ skit was a bit of a bummer, but not enough for me to remove a star from my rating.
Sitting on, doing my ideal endurance pace while listening to Mike & JP go on about the mechanics of racing Kermiss', chain lube, low friction pulleys and whatnot on a perfect fall day... I had to pinch myself more than once.
Only thing we were missing was donut rain...

I'll post this on the sat sun group ride slot as well.
Tradition is tradition and New Year's day means a death march in the cold on a bike for Kissena members and whoever else gets wind of the ride.
I'm thinking it will be 10am at GWB but nothing set just yet.
I built my race bike for 2013 yesterday. I guess I actually have to race now so I guess I should actually train.

Heading out tomorrow. Looks decent @ 46 and cloudy. I'm fat and slow. Like almost 185 lb Ragot size except not cut and jakkked like him. 10am @ GW works unless otherwise works for peeps.

This Thursday. Thinking of riding north through the Bronx to pick up the South County Trailway and then take that north through westchester, turning at some point and then heading west to the Hudson and taking 9 most of the way home. Probably leaving around 9:30.

I was thinking of 50-60 miles. But it's a pretty easy route (once you know it). You can just do a 180 and return on the path if you want. or you head west to the hudson and then turn south.

Mañana GWB @ 8.30 - longer ride, 40ish miles at a mellow pace with climb efforts. Might be convinced to alter start time if others want to join.
Might be a rare WDC sighting - bring your binoculars and your butterfly net.
