I was thinking of 50-60 miles.  But it's a pretty easy route (once you know it).  You can just do a 180 and return on the path if you want. or you head west to the hudson and then turn south.
JP, how the traffic up there on 9? Or is that the trick with the route - where to split?
I don't think it is bad--but I've only made it to the Tarrytown reservoir thusfar.  As you get to Dobbs Ferry or a bit south, I take a lower road into Yonkers that leads into The Bronx.  But I'm learning.  Same goes as to where to turn off.
what time are you leaving?
I may do an early run up 9w on Thursday am.  Field Test time.
I'll be out tomorrow but probably a bit later when it's warmer. And to keep from holding anyone up. Why? Bc today doing 14mph up the "hill" in prospect my heart rate?.....180BPM!!!!! Hell yeah fatty cakes boom.
Jason et al,
My current plan is to leave from St. Nicholas ave and West 129th in Manhattan (on the st.nicholas ave bike path) at 9:30.  This should be an easy rendezvous and as the route takes us on to the Harlem river greenway, it's an easy ride to there.

8.15 @ GWB, not 8.30 tomorrow (Wednesday).
Not making it. Paralyzed after today's paltry ride.

I'll be riding SLOWLY around inland New Jersey tomorrow (THURSDAY)--one JPs routes. About 4 hours total, maybe 30 minutes more.

Fair warning. I know the route well enough to do the complete route, but not well enough to point you home at an intermediate spot.

Leaving 9am-ish from the Jersey side of the GWB. I'll post here if that time changes by more than 10 minutes.
Anyone joining me for adventure in westchester?  9:30 from St. Nicholas Ave and West 129th street.

sorry I missed out but I'd be interested to hear how it went

Thursday at GWB, y'all - either 8 or 8.30, depending on a certain somebody whose initials are Dave Vollbach.

Exact time TBA.
word on the street is that Vollbach just bust his collarbone

except i didn't really . . . just read a text from him

"Get Well" chocolates, takeout and erotic massages for Dave can be sent directly to 504 west 111st
the GWB bike path is closed right now due to the weather.
I'm planning on trying to make it tomorrow.

Whassapin to Dave? Hit by car or just training?  Heal up, duder.  I got tons of pics on my phone I can text. Just ask WDC.  What age?
Is Vollbach going to make Thursday's Ride?  I don't see a broken collarbone as a limiter.
Yeah. HTFU, Volbach. I have ONE HTFU bracelet left. It's yours if you make it.

neither hit by a car nor training.

apparently, a combo of tailwind, high speed and a bump on the WSP did him in as he rode home from dinner last night.

so saith ye olde Kissena Hardman.

Actually DV could probably teach many of us a lesson in HTFU - he sent me a chipper text from his hospital bed to tell me he wouldn't make the Thursday ride b/c of his collarbone.  In his position I would've been screaming to the doctors at that point for cocaine and amphetamines.

Oh and then he told me he was being "x-rated" - I think he meant x-rayed.  Not sure if that was autocorrect or the painkillers talking.

...and since Dave is out, GWB time is 8.30 tomorrow.
I'll be there. Unless I'm not. (Don't wait).

When I broke my collarbone the Demerol was so good I had no pain for almost 8 hours. But then it wore off...
I'm riding across bridge at 9am prob a lil earlier going to gate hill maybe further

JeffO - didn't wait, it was cold.  Did you make it?
Anyone heading over the bridge Wednesday? I'm planning to go - Piermont turn-around. Need to be back in BK by 2 pm.
Oh, high of 24? That sounds great. Lets make sure we leave super early at like 6 so that it's closer to 15. SRSLY, I might be down and I have an offer:

I have ONE more "harden-the-fuck-up" wrist band and TWO brand spankin new "LIVEWRONG" ones. All in blacker than black.

Which means the two people who actually show up for this ride will get them.
This is my rest week, but I might show just to pick those up.

Temperature I can deal with. Rain/snow and I'm out. I can't make it to GWB till around 10. Need to be back in BK by 2-2:30.

I'll be heading out over the GWB for a 4-hour-ish ride on Thursday leaving 10-ish providing there are clear roads. Endurance pace on the flats (because while you jamokes are busy bragging about your wattage records, my capillary density will be thicker than hair in my Italian arm-pits), harder on the hills (because I'm fat, and there's no way to go up them easy these days), coasting on the down-hills (because coasting down hill is fun).
Gotta go to physical therapy and do nursing junk tomorrow before I leave town.  I'm out.  But wrist bands will be doled out next time I see you guys, if you go.  Sunday looks like a nice 28 degrees so I might see you then.
you bailing?  I think you should ride over to my place naked with the bracelets and I'll distribute.
