River Road / Palisades / 9W rides WEEKDAY

Well turns out dreams do end pretty quickly. After Joe turned the screws into me yesterday with 2 20's and hill repeats (good to see you on the way back, Eric) this morning felt a little rough when I woke up to ride. I guess, rather than a 3 hour ride, what I really needed was 2 more hours of sleep and a quick hour in Prospect... Oh Well. I'm heading up to Bear tomorrow (rain or shine) if anyone's interested. Leaving earlyish (aiming for GWB at 7:30). Holler at me!
So I figured out what not to do - don't lay down on your stomach. It allowed my legs to stiffen in a semi-bent state. Then when I went to straighten them, all hell broke loose. If my ass doesn't hurt too much, i might try to make it over the bridge tomorrow, but I have to be back by noon.
i ended up doing a pre-work ride out to piermont this morning.  as much i enjoyed it, it's proving to have been quite a big mistake.  not only did i mess up my timing, to the effect that i ended up having to dial into a conference call riding down 9th avenue, i have also done nothing this morning but eat.

dave / eric -- so as much as i would love to join you out to bear, i won't be doing that.
dvollbach-- screw it, i'd been thinking of doing Bear on friday but it'd be much more enjoyable to do it w/ someone else.  meet you on the Nj side of the GWB?
YEAH! GWB, Jersey side at 7:30. Like I said, rain/shine, I'll be going. Bring lots of snacks, I'd like to not stop a whole lot (other than to fill bottles).
that was a blast.  @dvollbach you are of the beast-- thanks for the speedy tow back up 9W.  almost exactly 120 miles door-to-door.
Much cooler today. I slept until 8. Better than riding 120 miles.... Jealous though
Was a super dope ride, weather turned out to be perfect. I'm glad you could make it out, Dave. Admittedly, sleeping until 8 sounds pretty awesome at this point, though.
Planning on riding to Piermont Tuesday AM at the very self-employed-friendly hour of about 8am.  I've been gone for 2 weeks so this is more just a remember-how-to-move-the-feet-in-circles ride than anything else.
thinking of riding out to nyack / rockland tomorrow (friday).  early-ish start.  lemme know if you're interested in meeting up.
want to go over the bridge for three hours or so Wednesday morning (8/14/13).  Looking to be at the bridge in the 9:30-10am range.
@JP ... i will probably join you for that.
i would like to join.  i'll shoot for 9:45 NJ side of the bridge?

^ works for me.
Sure.
confirming for today.  see you at gwb @ 9:45.
thanks JP for leading a great ride.  though i can say with certainty that i will never again remember where in the world we went.

bike score of 292.  might be one of my hardest of the season.

Don't worry Mark, it only took me, LITERALLY 10 years of riding with JP and a few from the road phone calls, to figure out just two of JP's secret inland Jersey rides.

Through the Wormhole good man.. through the wormhole...

mark and i were in the chase group for 55 miles on this 3-person ride.  we almost made the break, but the surly rider with the pony tail just wouldn't give up that gap...
Headed out tomorrow. Up for whatever. Maybe Storms.

some of the wormhole is actually available via download for iPhones.  Go to the App Store, look up Where to Bike New York City, and you can find the Saddle River Ride.  Takes you into the wilds of NJ.  There are others that guide you through the Bronx as well.
I keep hearing theres some book you can buy.

But its written in Australian.

(Jp is there an app for that?)

Does the book come with GPX files?

Yes, if you mean the GPX files are printed on paper maps, along with info as to the road, places to snack, public transit, and stuff to see.

Myles, In Australian, the book would be "where to ride" not "where to bike".

another 9:45 start this Wednesday morning?  (8/21/13)
Is 10 ok? Is this gonna be 95 miles again? I won't be getting much sleep bc I'm prob gonna have to stay late at hospital.
i'm going to head out tomorrow, but for a 6:30am BB start.

I'm doing a Thursday morning ride. I want to be back at the GWB by 1PM. Any takers?
Owens,
I can do that.  But if you're not coming, please alert me via the forum.
