FWIW, IMO, the on bike pre-course previews that I've enjoyed the most usually have the/a camera on a lead and/or follow bike. This way the viewer gets to see the rider we are riding with. Of course, if you get multiple go-pros, one on Frankie's bike, one on a follow, one on a lead bike (with camera facing behind), then edit it all together, that's the strongest presentation.

No one claimed it, AND all the other Supercross/SupercrossCup ones are mostly filled with pictures of boys on motorcycles. And frankly, I'm not so much into them right now.

If Supercross isn't enough for you, then...how about the only legal mountain bike trail in all of Harriman State Park?

That's right, the 4.5mi Horn Hill Loop is it, and it's at the southern end of the second parking lot.  It's a one way trail, so no one will be coming head on.

Haven't tested it out myself, but could be fine for cross bikes.

I don't know how many of you are following our Twitter feeds, but I posted something earlier about regular master's studs Al Donahue and Matt Timmerman were signed up for the UCI Elite races and then Edwin Bull was all like, "Dude, why didn't I sign up for Elites too!"

Apparently Edwin has gotten a lot faster since the dusty days of Gloucester.

He's someone who could be very good, and very fast if he focused and trained for reals. Of course he's got that whole, family to raise, bike company to run thing going too.

Had a blast in my first one! Great mud and challenging course.  15/20 in 4/5 35+ ... if I was smart, and had met Eloy in Prospect Park over the past few Thursdays for cross training, I would have easily cut off 20 sec/lap and passed a handful more people simply by knowing how to mount properly. 

Was a good day at the race, thanks to Jim Nelson for giving me a lift there and back and many many thanks to all the folks out there before dawn and after dusk setting up the course and resetting for tomorrow.  I had fun being part of the crew, excited for the next race.

got no legs. but this is the best cyclocross course I've ever been on.

Todd and I got into Manhattan 10:30 pm-ish. Tear down duty is like moving, you take care of the big stuff (sticks, tape, banners) pretty quickly but it's the little stuff that kills you....

Thanks to everyone who volunteered, raced, and otherwise supported our efforts this year. Supercross has truly become a marque event in the regional cycling calendar and it's because we are working hard, with your help, to pay attention to "details." And so having so many of you pitch in, take on big responsibilities means that our guests have a top-notch experience. So many of you didn't just say, "I don't know," You said, "I don't know, but I'm going to find out, I'll take care of that." 

Can't say thank you enough. This year was a marked improvement over last year's event and frankly, last year's event was pretty damn good too.

2016 looks to be another banner year as we might join the oldest/longest running professional CX series in the country. The Verge Shimano series, traditionally a New England-only affair, is looking to grown their series and we are a prime candidate to fill the hole left by Sterling's absence from the UCI calendar.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll have more to say in the days to come, but for now thanks again!

Marc, Todd, Joshua, Lt. Dan, Jill, Jeff W., Patrick G (and to anyone I missed), thanks for doing a great job with course setup, maintaining the course, and tear down, and just overall contributing your time to this event. As someone who raced, it was a great experience this year. 

The setup of the food trucks, reg tent etc, much better than last year's. And the course.. wow, Myles, you've outdone yourself.

This was a huge effort by a gigantic number of hard-working dedicated volunteers, but the number of folks who said to me "Awesome course" or "What an awesome race" truly made this worthwhile.

Today I am happy I get to sit in front of a computer and not haul around a leaf blower or trash bags through deep mud.

Great job to everybody who helped pull this together.

Great courses, great races.  Big props to all who helped with the designing and grunt work of staking, taping, and cleaning, as well as those who registered people and were wandering around with communicators helping out as needed.  

Frankie Andreu did a solid job announcing, the food trucks were close to the finish line, a local fire department was hosing down bikes early Sunday.  

The club championship was one of those good news bad news things.  Only three of us registered (what's up with that).  Me, Marc, Whitey.  I got up before my alarm, turned it off, and went back to sleep till 7.  Not good for a 7:45 start.  Got out of the house in ten minutes, had a traffic-free drive, and got there at 7:50.  Found out our start was delayed.  Enough time to get my number, hit the bathroom, get someone (thanks nelson martins) to pin it for me, and roll to the start.

As Jeff was legitimately in the race that would be starting in front of the club champs, Marc and I agreed to let him do his race, but he chose to line up at the back with us.  

No crashes at the start.  When we hit the grass, I was able to move up a bit.  Found myself leaning on people in the turns.  Going into the only barriers, the guy to my left dismounted early.  To make sure he didn't go wide on me, putting me into the tape, I kept my shoulder on him until I was ready to dismount.  I think these moves gained me a few spots.

Which I needed because I felt terrible.  Not just not-warming-up terrible, but totally empty.  Maybe I gained enough spots to keep them at bay.  

Nope.  Next lap, Jeff came around me.  Then Marc.  No idea how their race played out.  I shut it down in the hopes that I could have a better race later.  Finished, went back to the car and changed, and lay down for almost an hour.

Worse the next race.  I actually dropped out on the first lap.    The courses were challenging.  Can't imagine what they would have been like if it had been raining during the races.

I wanted to help out, but I felt like I could barely move.  (just got back from the doctor.  I've got strep throat)

Huge turnout at the race in terms of racers. Not so much in terms of spectators.  Even less in terms of Kissena.

What will it take to get more of you out there next year?

I have been utterly delinquent with race reports this year, but my 2015 KCC CX Championship report is on its way. Quick preview in response to JP's report: JP got way ahead of us (Marc and me) with a whole lot of passing savvy on the first lap, but he was frankly in slo-mo on all the power sections. I just figured he was in whatever training phase resulted in his huge Spring fitness, but the bug makes much more sense.

Hot damn...if you guys aren't eating up the highlights and interviews from Supercross yet, you guys are missing out. Folks are falling over themselves talking about how much they loved the race.

In other news, an addendum to my earlier post about the interviews. Let me share with you two true facts.

Yes, absolutely, I love when Adam Myerson raves about our course/race. 

But I ALSO love it when Eloy and Phillip compliment the course/race too. 

There is one huge thing that must be said here in this thread:

A whole fuck ton of work went into this race. Do you hear me? A fuck ton. Of work. Primarily by Myles Romanow, but also largely by a very dedicated few of our teammates and some dude who I only know as "Jumpsuit Geoff" (I asked a couple of people who he is, but never got a straight answer; I think he might be some kind of Dickensian CX-mas Carol ghost guiding us stake-by-stake, ribbon-by-ribbon to that Great Cinnabon of Death in the Sky, but I digress ...)

SO as I was saying, a whole fuck ton of work went into this race, and a couple of our esteemed teammates deserve special recognition:

1. Myles Romanow - The course whisperer, the David Koresh of Supercross. This race is his baby. His workload to make this all happen, for better or for worse, is unimaginable. He is still working on it right now. (All you future readers of this forum post: yes, right now.)

2. Todd McLoughlin - KCC's chief cross specialist hasn't turned a pedal in anger in a year, but he worked like a DOG, nonstop, all weekend. Nonstop. Myles's KCC MVP, without a doubt.

While those guys went to extreme lengths to make this weekend happen, these Kissenas also went WAY above and beyond (I'm talking multiple days of hard, physical labor) to get this thing done:

Dan Reiners, Patrick Grehan, Josh Caesar, Marc Bertucco, Jim Nelson. (And Nelson Martins, recently ex-KCC.)

There were a bunch more KCCs as well who played integral parts in organizing this FUCKING BADDASS MUDDY WAFFELS FIRETRUCK BIKE WASH STATION PRO ONLY SECTION DOUGHNUT MEDAL BEER PODIUM KCC CX CHAMPIONSHIP MUD FEST FRANKIE ANDREU CRYSTAL IF SHE MARRIED A RED HOT CHILI PEPPER AND HYPHENATED HER LAST NAME ANTHONY-KIEDIS cyclocross race.

Thanks to all of you. You should be proud of putting on the best CX race, course-wise, in the Northeast this year.
