Sounds fun, again - I won't be there, again. February and March are gonna be completely bonkers for me.
The irony is that April will be totally chill school-wise but I'll be in shite form for the start of the road season.

OK, I have heard enough "yes" that I think we can move forward. Let's choose dates and book flights.
Here's a doodle poll that gives us the option of two Thurs-Sun long weekends, either starting Thursday 2/21 or Thursday 2/28.
Please fill in all dates that will work for you.

This was a fantastic trip, and although the riding was splendid, it made for a good family trip too. This is a GREAT way to get to know the guys you'll be racing with in 2013, and if you can swing it I highly recommend it.

Looks like Thursday 2/21 - Sunday 2/24 is our choice.
Great...so fly in on Wednesday if you can. We will do many of the same climbs as last year, with some new twists mixed in.

FWIW that looks like it costs more than a B&R trip http://www.butterfield.com/trip/tuscany-biking/ which I thought was pretty much the costliest way of riding bikes all day and still eating enough fine food to gain weight....

I think all the KCC members going to Cali won't collectively spend as much including airfare as one person attending that camp sans airfare. And, you'll be riding the same roads.

Man, that's so dumb. Who would want a 20/20 kit or who needs them to give you a garmin 500
computer? Everyone who wants to go to that camp already has a fancy computer, as evidenced by the fact they can throw away $8000 for one week.
But maybe you could at least put Patrick Dempsey into a corner. That's almost worth it.

I can understand the Danielson hate, but Patrick Dempsey woke up before dawn to get fred-bombed by me, Malcolmson, and Mueller. That's got to be worth a little.
What I don't understand about the "camp" is this: "In addition, 10% of all proceeds will be donated to a junior cycling organization." A junior organization? and only 10%? Dempsey doesn't need the money, and Danielson shouldn't unless this is his goodbye to cycling.

Well, while Danielson has probably made a decent amount in his career, he's at the end of it, and when you hang around people that are even richer than you, you don't think you're wealthy. I worked for hot shot millionaire young artists, but they're surrounded by gazillionaire collectors and dealers, so they lost perspective and no longer considered making under $5 mil that much.
Which is why that dude in Chicago killed himself after the 2008 collapse when he lost half his net worth over night. Yeah, he still had $250 million, but he used to be worth HALF A BILLION, so now he sucks.

I booked my flight. This was $327 - not bad these days, I haven't flown to LA that cheap in awhile.

So I found a flight with Frontier airlines and I think I'm gonna buy, its 270bucks roundtrip. bikes are 20bucks each way as long as weight is under 50lbs and oversize charges don't apply. leaving wed morning, returning tuesday (26th) morning. fare is on kayak (via travelocity) if anyone is interested.
only downside is a 2hr layover in denver on the way there...and an hour on the way back.

I can't make LA in February, but am going to my coach Alessandro Matteucci's camp January 6th. Yes, I am going to be riding the sunny roads outside of scottsdale Arizona in a few weeks. I am posting because in addition to it being cool to have a teammate along, he had a guy drop out last minute, so there is a spot open if anyone is interested. The camp and flights are reasonable. I haven't been to a camp before, but knowing Alessandro, it will be time well spent for training and learning. His site has more info here. Back channel me if you have questions or are interested.
