riding here is awesome.  the rolling green hills are tremendous.  been coming up here for years now and I can say firmly that it's not just a bunch of clouds  will post the videos when i'm back in a civilized place with actual upload speeds... 

the country out here is great. different than syracuse or albany or upstate cities.  there are roads out here where I have to hold my breath because the stench of manure is too strong.

the other day i had to decide whether to unclip and kick the dog, or accelerate and get away.  i opted for non-harm, but it was tough given the gradient.  there are lots of hills up here  

it's like battenkill without the covered bridges, obnoxious fees, and sudden cancellations. i wish i was a good photographer...maybe this could be a Redbeard event?

i would love to do a kissena event up here. if everyone is okay with camping in a field i can probably convince the in-laws to oblige...in time

riding up here is different.  no one to see up the road, chase down, and pass.  no traffic to navigate...just a solo ride.  the scenery is obnoxiously awesome and the suffering is too.

You're essentially describing where I grew up — although it was about another 1.5 hours west on the thruway.

The feelings you're describing are what got me into rando / adventure cycling. The only thing better than car free roads with epic views and stinky manure is knowing you got there from the city on your bike.
