Agreed. Lots of still shots of sponsor products with carefully placed logos. They have some great footage but I didn't care for the editing. They lost an opportunity to tell compelling stories clearly. Oh well. 

Nevertheless, the series is worth watching for some beautiful imagery, behind the scenes interviews and dramatic racing. I was curious to see what we would learn about the inner turmoil that is the Movistar trident. What I learned is that Carapaz is irresistibly likable, Landa has the same facial expression in every shot and Nairo has little regards for communication and the team. Also that Movistar did not prep for the opening TTT of the TdF. WTF?

Nairo and Landa were very unhappy dudes during the tour. After the penultimate Val Thorens stage, Nairo grins, shrugs and says that the reason that Movistar didn't win the stage (they came in 2nd and 3rd) was that some riders don't communicate well. This is ironic as you can see him earlier in the stage with his earpiece out and you can see the DS complain about lack of communication with him earlier in the tour. Goes to show that strong legs don't create a cohesive (aka winning) team

So, just finished watching this, and frankly thought it was one of the best cycling documentaries I've ever seen, it is beautifully shot, edited, super emotional, and quite compelling. 

Perhaps a part of it, is that the comments above maybe made me come in with low expectations. My experience/enjoyment was so clearly different from those that commented.

Makes me wonder if maybe language was the difference. Have to be honest, the language, the words, the phrases they all use, and the passion behind them, is what I enjoyed the most by far.

The new Movistar doc was sweet. I have to say I walked into it not liking Valverde or Nairo, but it painted a great picture of what they were going through last season. Valverde seems like a fairly genuine dude from the looks of it, despite his past, I could root for this guy. Very well done Doc, especially because it kept my short track mind interest enough. 

A consequence of this time is that I've been learning how to use iMovie and started a youtube channel.

Great first video @mugwump. Having that bike leaning diagonally in the tub with my fixed shower head feels so familiar. Also the dirty tub afterwards Using bike bottles was also genius.

I made this stand from PVC pipes to get a better clean a while ago, but needs refinement:
- it wobbles so it makes cleaning the frame slower, 
- it holds the bike level so it's better for the box type chain cleaner (less degreaser drains out of the side)
- the chain catcher wheel lets the chain jump off the pulley wheels sometimes bc the catcher slides around on the PVC pipe
- it's easier to clean the inside of the rear triangle
- the front upright pipe is fixed (glued) but the rear upright pipe can rotate to accommodate different wheelbases, not sure how durable that is

I love these. I always thought the bike-in-the-shower was a pro move to keep crawling babies away!

I found it's a good way to get them involved.  Let the kids do some spraying and showering.

Good call! Looks like I read too much into the sentimental tone of his post 

I feel like the end of the JPow era was a disappointment, and Hyde did/doesn't have the same starPower (see what I did there) as Jeremy did. It's a shame, but nobody's fault.

Finally got around to the Movistar movie and I have to say the Giro was amazeballs, and the Tour was as scathing an indictment I've ever seen of team management.
