Loving the swagger in Groschartner's Vuelta pre-TT "look" this morning. He even winked at someone before his start. Dude's 'stache belongs in a 70's porn movie

Beautiful shot of the 1911 French cyclocross championship.

Don't show this to Myles. Walking the plank above a moat looks like a disaster waiting to happenThierry Bonnaire said:Beautiful shot of the 1911 French cyclocross championship.

Ran across some shots from my first cx season - I think probably 98 or 99. Some of you may recognize the bike. It's now blue and fully kitted out as a randonneuring style machine. Missing the cx scene this year.

I like looking at Eli Iserbyte's bike setups because he's a similar height to me. CX bikes can be tricky for those of us on the shorter side (lots of toe overlap, small shouldering space, etc).
His new Euro Champs bike looks strange though. I'm not trying to be one of those "your seats too high" internet bike fit specialists, but it looks like this ridley is just too large based on that (lack of) seatpost?

Way setback seat post/saddle, stubby looking stem, very short bar tops/good reach, not much drop... I mean knowing very little about the rider, types of races they'll be running this on, and absolutely zero anatomical knowledge outside of Rob Liefeld comic books I'd say this is basically a recipe for churning out high torque based wattage via glutes with very little regard for aero positions.
Also yeah, if you're short, or have shorter than average legs frame geo is going to get really funky.

Everything would be fine if he chucked a 130mm stem on it.

it isn't too big -- doesn't look all that strange, I think what's going on is that the Ridley bottom bracket is remarkably higher than most other cyclocross frames.

Would that not make the saddle height look higher, eloy said:it isn't too big -- doesn't look all that strange, I think what's going on is that the Ridley bottom bracket is remarkably higher than most other cyclocross frames.
That being said,he seems to be making it work , he already has a win this year

The tall bottom bracket makes everything higher, so it makes sense that it would expose less seatpost.Mark Taylor said:Would that not make the saddle height look higher, eloy said:it isn't too big -- doesn't look all that strange, I think what's going on is that the Ridley bottom bracket is remarkably higher than most other cyclocross frames.

If you placed one of Eli's road bicycles next to this one, the saddle would be higher from the ground on the ridley, but the distance from the bb/pedals would likely be the same.

I just feel like that seatpost looks super bottomed out. Maybe it is the shape of the post that makes it look that way too?
On second thought though, i guess his bikes always kind of look like this. I may be talking out of my ass. I'm off to find another world/euro/national champs/ actual race winning edition bicycle to critique. Carry on.

Hello lads. Behold a 75 year old bike. My octogenarian mom still takes it out in the summertime. Not quite #looksharp on the maintenance front, but damn.
