there's a pretty significant amount of footage from supercross (and other world cups!)

--- but the idea that this bike needs a rear hub specially dished for it, is well, stupidity defined.

My guess is they're hoping the idea catches on with others.

They can currently 'get away with it' because they sell the bike with their own cranks, minimizing other compatibility problems, because fast wheel changes aren't important in 'cross, because people will have two sets of their own wheels.

The concept is pretty cool, but 7k euros is a lot of scratch.  Even if it comes down in cost, the bulk of it negates a lot of potential buyers in urban dwellings where space is a huge factor.

Look at this photo and think about bike fit...

Bike fit?  I'm thinking more of Christmas hams, bowling balls, or potato sacks full of doorknobs.

That's a nice colorway though!
A suspension fork on that thing is...

Tech times 1995.
off-the-shelf skin suit design with sublimated sponsor names.
custom-painted (black) steel Fuji Frame.  Team issue.
Diadora PowerDrive pedals and shoes
Zipp carbon cylinder/aluminum flange hubs
Salsa Ti' skewers
Avocet bike computer
Benotto tape
I think I was fourth or fifth.
Straight masterpiece.

The benotto tape was a throwback even then. I love that stuff.
Love me some Highpoint Hill Climb TT!

Too bad it's such a long drive from Brooklyn. Great early season test event though.
This freakin' photo at superweek by Stefan Feldmann

Been enjoying this doc that follows team Motorola in the 1991 spring classics.

Features: Phil Anderson, Steve Bauer, Frankie Andreu, Hampsten, Bob Roll, Tomac, Eddy Merckx, Paul Sherwen, and insane amounts of pasta.

A total primer on looking sharp.

About 90 minutes. Totally worth watching:

OMG AWESOMEEEEE.  I know people have their issues with Ochowicz and crew, but the transition from 7-Eleven to Motorola as the title sponsor introduced pro cycling to race radios, one of the defining markers of the modern era of the sport.
Why is this the least surprising thing about Anthony?
