Caleb is still my half korean homie from another korean 어머니.

it is amazing to me that professionals still make that mistake.
seeing him sprint next to cavendish is a sprinter's version of Evolution of Dance... aero sprint position versions 1.0 and 2.0, side by side

Cav doesn't even have a leadout man and is trying to surf Ewan's wheel.  If he were 5 years younger and if it were anyone else he may have had a good chance to overtake, but if wishes were fishes...
the size comparison is hilarious.  is kluger TRYING to be larger to give ewan a bigger draft?  it looks like he's sitting up

It looks like he is. Then agin, what's he doing like 1500 watts for 30 seconds just to keep that speed at his surface area?
I guess River Rd is out of commission for a while

It's pretty obvs what happened here.  Lot's of talk about SKY's wheels being 800+ grams heavier than everyone else's bikes at the tour...so the wheels have been made dangerously light to accommodate the motors...duh

You know, the more I race, the more I realize that Gartner's technology "hype cycle" essentially equates to the emotional cycle experienced during and after a race  :p
hey video editing people, can someone explain to me if i need to bother using gopro's software to convert to .avi from .mp4 once i've recorded on their cameras using "protune"?  this extra step takes up time and many GB but produces better colors.  any insight appreciated.  issue is that i end up needing to convert back to .mp4 to get the video into Garmin Virb to do the data overlay, and then export AGAIN from garmin virb, which is slow and redundant and ridiculous
Hi Brendan - I've never used Garmin or GoPro software, but do you mean that the color in your video just generally looks "better" as in more vibrant etc after converting from MP4 to AVI? This is likely an accidental byproduct of shifting colorspaces. Unless you are explicitly using some kind of feature - is that what "protune" is? If so, you should be able to get the same results by exporting it to mp4 - it's not like there is anything inherent to MP4 that yields better color - it is just a container.
the gopro software calls the steps going from .mp4 to .avi "converting"...during one of the steps, you can select color profiles. so maybe it's not accidental?  one of the profiles is "protune" which seems to be upping the saturation and some other stuff i don't understand.  protune has to be enabled on the camera as well; maybe it recordsmore data in the files on the camera, allowing you to access more colors afterwards?

i'll look into it.  after selecting protune as your color profile, things seem more high-contrast and the image looks...more vibrant and colorful.  the .mp4 files also go from about 1.8 gb to 8gb as an .avi.  then again, i think protune might just be a certain preset of brightness/color/saturation/other things i don't understand
