Cat IV's...I will get there during your race...I will leave some Neuvation wheels at the pit area labeled "Kissena" if you need...take. If you take...give it back after the race.

Question aobut this. Will it be cancelled if it rains? What's the likelihood of this?
Also, considering the tiny pre-reg, for the 1/2/3, what are the odds of many more showing up race day?

Thinly attended races are always good hunting. I think you can't pass it up if you have the legs. Waffles had a solo break for the win but Brendan took 3rd and took a few more points for the lead over Pena. Hard day for Kissena, the field expected us to chase down every break...which we pretty much did. Props to Niall and Phil for getting to the front when needed. By the second half of the race we were spent and Brendan had to do some chasing himself.
Leadout was almost to plan, but someone chopped my wheel coming out of the last corner. I would have been good for another 150m or so but after I grabbed a handful of brakes I was too far back. Niall lead out the rest of the way and Brendan duked it out for the field sprint
Cat4s, we need a few more legs next race, it is the final and KOM should be back in the picture.
PS - Of course a Floyd race wouldn't be complete without flats. Think there were 3 or 4 of us. Luckily mine came after corner one so I was able to swap wheels and stay in.

Congrats to the team on solidifying Brendan's lead. With some support from teammates we should finish the series next week with two jerseys and second place in a third jersey. This has been the result of a team effort. Bring your legs next week to make it happen and celebrate afterwards!

Niall David and myself just basically rotated patrolling the front or chasing down a break. After chasing a break, slide to the back, and another takes up station up front. As David said, it's hard being a domestique. ;-)
Two laps to go I didn't have anything left to help in the final lead out unfortunately.
Kudos to Brendan for staying in yellow!
And the wind was fairly calm this morning (for Floyd).

Believe it or not, but I've won a few races in my days. But ask me to tell you my favorite moments on a bike in a race, and I'll bore you with stories of shredding the field doing leadouts, chasing down dumbfounded national caliber track racers, etc.

Great race today everybody. It was a whole different feel at Floyd. Unlike the park, breaks can stick in any category. It was great to have teammates.
First couple of laps were ridiculously slow and then people started mixing it up. Result was lots of chasing for KCC today.
Fast forward to the finish. Ultimately, Joshua Hartman got a nice jump on me in the sprint. He was in a good position behind another rider and then he tore off leaving me in the wind. Displaying characteristic failure to launch, I sort of let him go for just a bit too long. He was away and I had no chance of catching him. He got 2nd. I thought Pena (the guy who is behind me by only 2 or 3 points for the yellow) pipped me at the line, but he didn't. It was a looooong sprint and Strava says we hit 39.5 mph (tailwind). I'm fine with losing a sprint to a teenager who just spent months getting his face surgically repaired after crashing in a bicycle race. He deserves it for both the on- and off-bike suffering. But I'll need to do better next race as this makes twice he's beaten me in the finishing sprint. Next time I'll mark his wheel.
It was interesting being in yellow. Knowing who has points was crucial: the race winner was off the front but it didn't matter because as far as I know (hope, and pray) he isn't a points threat. At one point someone who does have points rolled off the front and I had to chase. It's also awkward to wear a giant yellow billboard that says "I usually do well in this race." It seems to result in a large number of people positioning themselves behind you, making it harder to sit in.
It was and is my season's goal to take the yellow. Just one more race and we win our own series! Unless I've done some math wrong and the guy who won today was someone I thought had no points.
Thanks to everybody who helped today. I nearly pulled a Degenkolb and yelled encouragingly at Niall during one of his many epic pulls, but then I let my manners get the best of me. Won't make the same mistake next time.
The weirdest part was not going to Konditori afterwards.

Feel like Kissena did the majority of chasing in that race. It was tough going with just 4 riders in the field including Brendan, who ended up spending a lot more time in the wind than ideal. The next L&C race date listed on Charlie's site is Aug 2nd, this Saturday. We could be at Floyd again for the final? If so would be awesome to roll a little deeper to help Brendan secure the win.

I was in the park today and it seems like there is room to squeeze a peloton...there is a separate lane for walkers/joggers in the construction area.

It gets tight, though. Or, the plastic barriers change how it feels, even if it's the same amount of space.
I rode it over the weekend and there would need to be marshals at either end making sure peds didn't walk onto the street. There were a lot coming the opposite direction - not sure if there are signs up on that end. It would only take a single jogger with earbuds blazing to take out the whole peloton.
I think it will have to be Federal Marshals for this task.
