If I only had a window facing the street to show it off to the outside world...

Bo thinks it is ugly. That might be because I keep trying to sneak it into the bed and I bring it to the dinner table and I give it a seat on the couch. She just said, "Oh god will you get that ugly thing out of here."

She had the audacity to suggest I bring it to my mom's house when we visit this weekend. Initially I though - oh cool like a Stanley Cup type of thing, bring it to your home town, etc. But NO! She wanted to leave it there. Phooey.

TROPHY would never complain or demand more face time. The TROPHY only awaits your command in reverent anticipation. All hail TROPHY. I mean, all Bo did was rush home after work, pick up your wheels, and drive out to FBF for a cat 3/4 race just in case you got a flat. Who's more committed, her or TROPHY? Time to make a decision.

Rode for awhile today with Ariel Mendez Penate from Adler who was saying his teammates were all pissed because Kissena wouldn't let anybody get up the road. "Even guys who don't matter in the overall." I told him I thought you guys just put the race on lockdown, taking no chances. Ariel's a cool guy, he also conceded "well, if everyone's complaining about you you're probably doing something right!"

Posting for Charlie. Info on the first Kissena race of the season is below. Kissena riders do not need to pre-reg unless their field is filling up. Bring $15 cash on race day to register at the race.

The first Floyd Bennett Field bicycle race will take place on
Saturday, March 3.

"La Primera Carrera" will have separate races for Category 4 and
Category 5 fields and will also feature a Category 1-2 and Category 3
Handicap race. The Category 3 riders will start first followed by the
Category 1-2 riders 3 minutes later. The Category 1-2 riders must
catch the Category 3 riders in order to place.

Conflicts with Branchbrook for those who like the NJ thing.

I like the "most racing / least time away from family thing" so that's how I'll optimize...

Branchbrook earlier - more racing... Back soon, better (IMHO) racing.

Did you guys see the distances?
27 miles (43km) Cat 4.
47 Miles (76km) Cat 1-2-3, Cat 3 get a 3 minute head start.

Over two hours of racing when you do masters and 123. Plus two 4/5 races gets you 80 min of excellent racing at a great venue.

love the branchbrook format

I liked Branchbrook (and may be there based on my better half being in NJ) - but lets not totally bash on FBF, especially since its our club's race, local, and $15.

If you really wanted both - an ambitious cat 4 or 5 could do the 7:17am Cat4/5 at Branchbrook, drive real fast over to FBF, and line up for the 9:30 am FBF race.

Bashing? Who is bashing. There are 95 races per year at Floyd. 6 at branchbrook. That, IMHO, makes it better. The racing is also against different riders, another plus.

Branchbrook is a great early season series; you can do the doubles, get 12 races in 6 weeks...

Floyd Bennett...now with better bathroom facilities. I happen to put a premium on such things...

I'd love to try Branchbrook this year.

FBF requires no car, though...and I have no car...
