That sucks Adam! We all got kind of separated on the bike path. I was wondering what happened to you.
Ouch, JP. That's one heck of a way to do it. I was shocked at how fragile that screen is. I've dropped it a thousand times and had a few spills, so I'm surprised that this is what did it.

Ryan: I rolled with Stokes to pick up bars and a stem for the cross bike.
This is a brilliant initiative from the city.
hah, "derelict bicycle"
I think its wonderfully ironic that jp broke his screen with his other
screen whilst fixing his screen....

It's worse.  I was ostensibly trying to "save" money by installing the hard drive myself.  And it cost $80 thanks to my flub.  Granted I doubt it would have cost that little to transport the computer to a place to repair it and perform the repair.
My best friend dented his car with his other car parking it.

Oh goody, New York isn't the only place where you can kill someone with a car and get away scott free!

22400 block of Mulholland Hwy where the deputy officer veered into the bikelane and killed the cyclist.
Apparently there is an exception in the texting law for people who are in the line of duty.

Saw a new move today in the park I thought I'd share - mostly as a warning.

Was coasting down the hill more or less in the middle of the two car lanes.  There was a kid in the joggers lane riding a razor scooter.  Always wary, I inched even further (than one full lane) away from him.

Just after we passed him he reached Warp Speed and decided that he'd rather run downhill so he Wiley Coyote'd himself and THREW his scooter away - it shot an entire lane to the right of him and behind me while he took a few frantically fast steps before faceplanting.

Asking the NYPD for help solving a crime is like asking ISIS for help with crossing guard duties. Better to just not.

Jeff, correction ISIS makes perfectly fine traffic enforcers. It is just the punishment when you get caught for a violation may not fit the crime.

Ouch.  Don't overlap wheels...

That sucks.  Third guy back lucked out, riding between downed bike and downed rider at exactly the point when the two objects were still sliding away from him.  I just don't get physics.  Stokes?  Everything in that kind of situation that seems like a good idea, ride between them, jump over them, pull out hard left, inevitably is a bad idea.  Luck is nice to have.

Skillz drills next season - I'll be there for practice.  During pacelining this season, I hit Dale's rear wheel enough (sorry, dude) for all the practice I needed.  Hold tight, go where my front wheel points me, hope my teammate didn't notice.

Wheel bumps are always tough to practice but SO important to be ok with.

Skillz Drillz Mondays will resume this fall if there is interest.
Conservation of momentum?
The bike is traveling forward and has zero sideways momentum.
So when rider falls to one side (producing momentum to the left), then the bike needs to move to the right to make the sum = zero.

Physics boils down to a few simple laws. That makes it much simpler than, say, law or history or the rules for cyclocross upgrades.

CX upgrades are easy. Road points multiplied by time trial starts under a full moon divided by MTB points times pi
Mmmmmmmmm.

You neglected to mention PSI differential between front and back tires expressed as a ratio.
Updated now that I'm back from the park*

So I'm spinning around at a snails pace between intervals in a pretty empty park minding my own business when some castilli'ed out older guy screams at me from behind to watch the f out. I'm thinking to myself "whaa??" Then I realized I moved to my right about 12 inches to avoid a branch in the road (keep in mind I'm pretty much hugging the line for the joggers lane).

So I reply " sorry for moving a foot" (yes he was going that slow that he wasn't out of sight by this point). The old man gets agro and says, "wtf did you say kissena cat4???" So I say, "I'm just recovering between intervals, you have the entire road, keep your head up and we'll all be alright."

He didn't like that all and tells me to shut my fucking mouth before he slaps me. Naturally, I laugh in his face and say "hahah are you going to assault me?" He kept at it before calling me a "dildo" and riding away.

TIL - dont get between a fred and his park KOM. Uploaded via iphone. Excuse the grammar / spelling.

Updates*
- No, I didnt get his bike make / color
- Yes, I got a very good look at his face
- Yes, the joggers in the jogger lane were laughing out loud
- Yes, I pulled over in the middle of my workout to upload that to the forum, haha.
- He was probably in his late 40s/ early 50s. A lean'ish 6ft something with salt and pepper hair. He definetly seemed like a racer.
@Wes that's INSANE.  I was out earlier and Igor asked after you; what a perfect update.  Good job not letting it get to you.  This town is like  Psycho breeding ground.
Did you get a bike model/color?
By chance was he on a mint old steel bike , could be that nutter Eric Robertson got in a scuffle with, he hates KISSENA
