I can confirm the Rainey Park race is NOT on this Sunday. Link is not even supposed to be visible. No word yet if there will be a race there later in the season.

@twoyacks however, you should sign up for Supercross Cup. Category 3 Saturday:

A few weeks ago, you said you needed a few weeks. SO LETS GO RACE BIKES.

Also, sign up to volunteer and help your team put up the best race.

Getting to cross races is too much of a pain. I think next season we should come up with a better solution....something like team van. Renting a car for twice the price of reg is getting old.
Any way we could hold cross races at floyd?  plenty of infield there...bet we could cobble something together...just spit balling here
Most that infield space at Floyd is protected national wildlife refuge and you're not even supposed to walk out into them.

That said, we would probably fit in quite well....

aww snap...shit just got real

you couldn’t pay me enough to bushwhack that infield space. think dead cats, rodents, snakes, ferrets, wingless pigeons, bicycle habit kits. JP stores his make shift shrink wrap disc wheel in those bushes too.
However, in the same vein as FBF, there are some fields (where I’m pretty sure anything goes) and unused fire roads out at Fort Tilden.
what the bloody hell !!! Is this a race with a start time or some gorilla marketing beer crawl?

On an uphill too? That is so awesome. I’d pay him to teach me
altho that is sort of the point of Kerry's vid... you could potentially remove the bunny hop, it could still be a good workout, check "power climbs" :

While I can see the LICX predictor has me in 2nd place. I wont be able to race tomorrow. My back is still recovering from the crash at Northampton.

I hope I can be back for the last two weekends of the season Dec 9/10 Solstice and Rainey Park and Dec 17 Elm City
I don’t understand Yack’s post, but it’s good to see him and several other kissenas signed up for Saturday’s race

I shall ring the "shame bell" for you all....so ride dainty tomorrow lads as I'm just a mechanical away from making my dream a reality

A race report: 1st cross race in about 15 years
got there early and saw Phil & Patrick...sunny and mild = skins
pre rode the course...did not feel good at all.  Soooo many 0 mph switchbacks
anyway...race started on a tricky loose incline with a slight bottle neck.  I tried to follow Patrick and some dude on a MTB.  I was a bike length behind over the top and into the chicaney slow speed downhill serpent.  But there was gap between me and 4th...a nice gap.  The idea of going deep to find Patrick's wheel was dismissed as the idea of blowing spectacularly and watching guys in running shoes pass me eclipsed it.  So I tried to find a tempo (which apparently was at 180 bpm's = my average hr).  The first 2 laps hurt the most.  The chicaney parts where you could recover were frightening as when I wasn't pedaling, I could hear myself breathing and I sounded like the love child of emphysema and the black lung.  I was definitely making time on all the downhill sections so I tried to save power for those.  There was only one dismount area = good for Yacks.  I never missed a turn or had to unclip = good.  I dropped my chain on the last lap = bad.  But I calmly fixed it.  On the last lap I was firmly in 3rd with Patrick & Mr MTB still up the trail.  I rode the shokpost...and I think it helped my lower back as it was never an issue...just my popcorn lungs.   It was fun but lonely...the average heart rate was crazy...MTB guy beats Patrick...Phil finished somewhere behind me...good time
If you've ever seen the movie "TAPS"...it felt like this out there today...

I love that gif. Also, don't ever make fun of the slingshot. Yacks finished well because of it (or in spite of...) Always the best part for me was hanging out with teammates.
