Hi all - as Patrick noted, I don't plan on running for sponsorship director again. I've been doing it for a number of years and with other things going on in life I don't think that I can do everything that I should for the role. That said, I'm not going anywhere and will happily contribute and assist whoever fills the role. The sponsorship agreement with RedBeard has another year on it and the relationships with Stages and others are largely self sufficient. We do need another financial sponsor which is what the focus of the new sponsorship director will need to be and I can provide some assistance memorializing the deal with them.
If anyone knows of a business that could / would sponsor our cycling club, please message me and we can discuss the approach.
The role can be quite fun if you like learning about new products and discussing relationships with the companies that make them. If anyone wants to learn more before throwing their hat in the ring, feel free to contact me.

Club - As the end of the year approaches it's time to select a Board of Directors for 2019.
Nominating is officially open and will close at midnight on December 12th.
Post a nomination and accept a nomination in this thread. Every club member has the power to nominate anybody who is up for the task (first make sure that the person you choose is OK with it). And yes, you can nominate yourself.
For those who are accepting these nominations, it is recommended that you write a small paragraph about what you can bring to the club.
Elections will be done online – you will receive a personal email with your voting link within a couple of days after the close of the nomination period.
For general information regarding the officer duties, the Club Bylaws and 2018 Board documents are accessible at the top right of the forum page. They both have descriptions of the responsibilities of each position.
Note, as in 2018, the VP will be responsible for managing the clothing orders. This entails being a liaison to Champ Sys, reviewing proofs, scheduling the orders, etc....

I'll guess I'll be the first to break the ice on this one. I'm happy to keep on for another year as our director of technology. I'm pretty handy when it comes to all things related to online tech—from writing code to designing interfaces—and I'm a naturally curious person, so I love exploring new tools for the evolving needs of the club. Since I am not in the habit of winning races for Kissena, the above is about the best thing I have to offer. ;-)
