Winter Computrainer Rides

Oh yeah, and CompuTrainer looks like this now.

This one hurt really really (really) really bad, but it might be the funnest time I've had on a bike since my last race.

Erik upgraded the software so that we saw virtual avatars riding bikes in a virtual mountain road.  Sure is a lot cooler than looking at little colored/numbered dots!

Tonight featured the talents of Sean, Jeff W., Adam, Clifford, Thierry, and myself.  They had started by the time I arrived late (sorry) and were just over 2 miles ahead when I jumped in.  They were keeping it pretty civil so I was able to make back some distance.  Jeff, in a moment of mad training brilliance, stopped and waited for me insisting on TTing ourselves back into contention.  I finally caught his wheel around 1.3 miles behind the last man ahead.  My Garmin file clearly shows power drastically reduced at the 21:30 mark which was when Jeff gave me a solid few minutes to recover in his draft.

Then we began to do The Work.

Jeff called out for 30 second pulls and it began as a lumpy affair due to my irregular surging.  After some instruction we got into a good rhythm and slowly clawed back Sean and Thierry.  By the end we were tantalizingly close to Adam and Clifford, maybe the shortest distance was 0.2 miles, but we ran out of road and finished some minutes behind.  Okay I may have committed a grave faux pas by attacking Jeff - my savior from TT purgatory - while he wasn't looking and beat him to the line.  Sorry Jeff, that was a dick move.

I wish I saw what other people were doing but was too cross eyed to barely comprehend my own efforts.  Hope everyone else had fun.

Aftermath:
The Good - Parking spot right in front of my building.
The Bad - I am absolutely wrecked.  Like beyond wrecked.
The Better - Weight when I got home, 148.5.  I weighed 150.1 last night around the same time.
The Worst - I ate a metric ton of korean kimchi fried rice, marinated beef, and yes, mac and cheese leftovers.
Oh snap I didnt realize we caught Clifford at the end.
We are ON for tomorrow! Sign up and check out the new-look CompuTrainer while you suffer the good pain.

Also, if anyone by chance has a pair of size 43-45 cycling shoes with look cleats that I could borrow for the session I would be much obliged.  Or, if someone has a pair of shoes in that size range with cleats of a different make, with the associated pedals, that they would be willing to lend me, again - much obliged.

I will explain my lack of clothing and equipment tomorrow.
In.
@Adam I might have something for you in 44.5.  Will confirm later tonight.
I have some Specialized shoes with Look cleats in size 44/10.5.
Thanks Jeff- those will do fine.

I believe there is one spot left.
Any women signed up?

No :(
I'd like to attend but I don't want to take the last spot if you were hoping to go, Daniella.

ok., if there is another spot left i will too.
@Daniella, if you definitely want to sign up and will be able to make it, you're free to take my spot.  It looks like a really late night at work for me.
OK! I'll take it!
I can pay you through my bank if you email me.
