Nosson, thanks for taking the bullet. I saw Josh "the decider" slot you for 7.45pm.
Was just trying to get bums on seats, you know?

Perhaps there'll be a last minute bail for the 6pm and you can jump in.
nevermind...i'm taking Josh's...
I have to bail on the 7:45 workout tonight, stuck working, sorry for the late notice. See you all next week.
Full house!
I absolutely slogged it near the base of the last hill, perhaps catching Ragot recovering from one of his intervals. The watts look impressive, but just over the hour and a minute slower than Ragot's time from last week.
Johnny "Wrong Way" broke all our hearts with his flagrant display of MonsterWatts (pronounced "Moan-staH")

Norm "The Thin Man" edged me out for an impressive 4th in a brutal field.

Vlad dominated early but Schlecked himself and never caught back on.

Good show all, froze my BALLS off riding home.
Hello! again, if any of you cannot make it wed...i'm here, lurking to find a spot. thanks.
Is 6 still open?
@alyoshas....i won't be able to make it this wed for my 6pm slot...do you want it?
yes please!
@alyoshas: ok it's yours
I am seeking to double-up this week --so, if there's a 6pm slot, please let me know. - Norm 917-578-0381

p.s. please place Nosson in a spot first, as he's indicated interest in the 6pm session.
@ Norm — Nosson has taken over Sarah's spot for Jan/Feb, so he's all set.
@JohnM thanks. Here's hoping a spot frees-up for skinny little me.
We have a 7:45pm slot open for a sub for tomorrow (2012-01-25) - Jorge can't make it.

Reply back please asap - I'll open this to the outside Kissena sub list shortly if no one picks it up.
I can take the 745 and Norm can have my 6pm. will that work?
I would love to take Aly's vacated 6pm spot (if he gets confirmed for the 7:45) --HOWEVER-- it now looks like I'll have a rought day at work tomorrow and won't likely be able to depart in time for the 6pm. I don't want to sit on a space that someone else wants, so if it's still open tomorrow and I can leave work in-time, I'll take it. Otherwise... someone can take it (assuming Aly gets the 7:45 spot). -Norm
Lets slot Aly in the 7:45 - CONFIRMED

and Norm in the 7:45 (normal session - CONFIRMED)

and for 6pm - 1 slot open - someone act fast and grab it, otherwise Norm to take if open AND if he can leave on time

thanks Aly.
hey, johnM notes a 6p spot open...can i sit in @6p? tonight 25jan?
-harry 718-640-8680m.
Harry will take open 6pm slot!
I'm stuck at work. Going to miss my 6pm. Holla if you'd like it.
and, they're dropping like flies. i feel like i'm coming down with something, so going to lay low tonight and bail on the 7:45. sorry for late notice - if anyone's on and wants my spot (or wants to do the double) it's all yours....
and how... I was unable to leave in time for my usual 7:45pm spot, quite late arriving at the slope... regrets for missing.
Ragot's got the watts.
Always had em...
Same watts as last week!
nice ride tonight. easy to start, then BAM John and Vlad are gone. Jumped across and then none of us wanted to draft, so it made things fast and uphill. Vlad got dislodged with some surge up a hill. Jihn hung around and I made him dig to get back on a few times until the end when I gave it one more go. Hard until he's out of the draft and then maintain...

Very nice ride all around.
hey kids,
1st compu experience &totally humiliating 21min behind group up Kona!
131watts vs 280watts avg! what up w/that?!

ass kicked by 5guys& a 6'7" junior!
...ALL finished 54"min 280watt avg 23mph avg/me 1':21"min 131watt avg 13.5mph avg. (note:i can walk across the street for 2hrs at a pace faster than 13.5mph! not sure what watts & mean but :21" is clear).

...shows what??? maybe, that infact, i am as weak as i thought i was& option1. am awesome racer to compete w/these kcc guys @fbf, ppk, cpk, ToC&GMSR, 2. am weak&simply manage to cheat like hell when racing, 2b. am weak &can't cheat the machine, 3. am weak, but, rediculously competitive/determined to compete with guys on race day...&that work WAYover ability in races...while others cruze. 4. trainer malfunction &was grossly handicapped to produce humbling 1':21"minutes back...thanks Murray!(@ride bkNY).

congrats to ALL for monster work &esp nosson @300watt 4last .5miles. i suspect truth is, i suck &need to crank-it-up on training if i want to hang in the cat4's!

It was a trainer malfunction or incorrect setup or something. You might have ground to make up, but not that much. 131 watts is nothing.
Posted By: Ryan JIt was a trainer malfunction or incorrect setup or something.
I would agree. Everyone should make sure these things are set up and functioning correctly before you race. Last time I used a computrainer, it required weighing rider and bike together, then rider getting on a set up trainer, spinning, coasting, while another guy was fussing with the trainer. I see that only Harry has a watts/kg readout which leads me to believe maybe you guys aren't putting in weights?

There are three guys who averaged basically 280 watts for an hour, which is nice...but just tickling the edge of making me ask, "really?" For those of you with power meters on your bike, how do your numbers compare? They should be in the same ballpark. My point of reference is probably off, I'll concede that, but I have to say, I'm a smidge suspect of those numbers too. The 238, 254 and 263 numbers make more sense to me. Although, I have no idea why Nosson's finish time at 238 watt average is 2:31, well over twice as long as guys averaging 40 watts more. That, as they say, does not compute.
actually, those machines only show watts/kg when you're still on the course. once you finish, that readout disappears, and it just shows your final avg. watts, speed, cals burned, etc....

that said, 131 is clearly a malfunction. from reading race reports, i'm guessing harry must be stronger than me, and i typically clock in at around 200-205 watts for an hour. not great, but, about 20 watts higher than i averaged last winter! progress!

see ya next wednesday....
Marc,

The numbers match my powetap, in fact computrainer has been a bit low. I rode mostly tempo. 300 watts for an hour is right in line with ragots FTP. He has his quarq to compare.
P.S. What's with computrainer graphics looking roughly as good as my Atari 2600 visuals?
