Adam...scroll back through some of the other threads. I was chief-whiner in charge of the "I HATE THE ORANGE HELMETS BRIGADE." I was seriously dead-set against it. It made me mad.

But it was the team helmet, I didn't pay a nickle for it, and that was what the team wanted to do, so after I made my opinions loud and clear, I strapped on that f-ugly red/orange helmet and went to a race.

And something like magic happened. I realized while all the reasons I hated the orange helmets were valid and true, they were completely rendered null and void when the outrageously obvious benefit of being able to spot your teammates at a glance anywhere in the peloton or up ahead became brilliantly (bright orange) clear.

Now I'm just hoping they changed up their dye/paint/whatever process so the helmets stay ridiculously bright for more than 2 weeks of outdoor riding.

I will say though, if you still insist on rejecting the orange lid...the club still gets an insane deal to purchase through their website (no fuss, no "you need a group order" muss) and go that route.

OR...if you have a big head like mine, and wear a large you are totally welcome to have my helmet which is faded to the point where it actually matches our kit now. It's been worn quite a bit, but never crashed. I'd be happy to turn it over to you or anyone on the club who wants it as soon as the new lids come in.

Floro Orange is in, baby.  POC is all over it, and for what it's worth theirs are fading even faster than the rudy's; word is that's why they aren't hitting the market on time.

Let's just order Adam a black helmet for our own safety. We're talking about a guy who: works in a big pharma "research" lab; has a favorite ride called the Triangle Ride (Bermuda?); shows up only at out of town races but not in photographs and always placing one spot off the podium; obsesses over his tin of "Altoids"; Strava drones mysteriously explode in his presence. Did I mention he likes curry and beer?

But then we'll spray-paint it Orange Fluo.  That should both meet his objection and still work in with the benefits.

Thierry - I'm merely aggregating the requests at the moment, no order has been placed. Hopefully that is consistent with what I said back on Mar 25. Joaquin has indicated he wants something too but hasn't provided me with any details. I also know that Stokes wants something. We are going to create a shared doc soon but are still trying to figure out the details around the new ordering process. I sent an email to RB last night to inquire and I'll follow-up with them tomorrow if I haven't heard back from them yet.

For the wheel lovers out there, I connected with John Neugent yesterday. For those who don't know that name, he was the owner of Neuvation and he closed shop in the fall / winter. At the time he mentioned he'd have a new venture starting sometime in the spring. He is starting a custom wheel business and from what I can tell will have wheels very similar to what he offered previously. He indicated that he'd be able to start shipping wheels mid June and maybe sooner. I should have a sell sheet to share with you later today. I will need to take your order, but he will bill you directly and ship to you directly. Prices look really good E.g. Alloy tubulars 22mm wide, 1320 grams with Sapim CX Ray spokes for $395 (which includes the KCC discount).
