Yacks, how do we access the team discount with Neugent wheels?
@Marc:

The store is now open and you can order at http://www.neugentcycling.com. There are a few issues but that shouldn't stop you from ordering. Right now the payment needs to take place via paypal, though you can use that to pay with a credit card. Also, there is no way to enter a discount code. In lieu of entering the discount code, please write in that you are a member of Kissena in the comments section and he will provide the 20% discount on his end. He will first confirm with me you are a member, so don't go sharing this deal with non-club members.

If you PM me your email address, I'll email John and cc you confirming your status as a KCC member as well.

Best way to get in touch with Edwin Bull at Van Dessel? #secrethandshake? #yesitstime
he answers my emails, but really best to call.

Agreed.

#secrethandshake is hardman cred.  No whining, ever.  It's always about going harder. #53x11istheonlygearever.  downing an oversize burrito or two with him an hour before a cross race also works wonders.  #castironstomach
Dear whoever orders the Rudy stuff next year,

Love,

We talked about those two years ago but they'd be horrible with the orange helmets. Go back to white helmets and they'd be sweet
Craig is our sponsorship huckleberry... that said... I secretly yearn for these

@Johnny you did this awhile back - remember?

I guess it doesn't look that bad in the picture - although I don't think it would look quite this good in person. I just tend to prefer contrast between helmet and glasses.

But ultimately, whatever - I spent two years listening to people bitch about sponsorship decisions so I'm not gonna be the one gonna do it now!
The hotness....just the HOTNESS !!!
@Ryan My 10c is choose shades that are both recognizable and integrated with the kit. The blue ones and the red/white ones clash and look random — orange/orange, orange/white, or if we are not loving the matchy-matchy then go neutral black/grey/mirror (not a stupid idea because you can wear them for other sports).
Any update on Challenge? Or rough ETA on decisions. Not trying to "rush" anything/anyone or be that dude, but just trying to figure out timing and whether or not I should go ahead and order up my tubulars through traditional channels.

I'm waiting on Challenge to get us information. I last heard from them on Jul 15 and was told info would be sent "in the coming weeks" and I chased them by email on Aug 7. I'll give them until the end of this week before chasing again. Once I get the info we'll need to decide if it is worth it. Something like a $10 off coupon for placement on our kit won't be worth it.

I will keep you apprised along the way.

With regard to the glasses, there are specific glasses which are eligible as part of the team program. Others can be had but its an ordeal. When we know more about next year, we can create a non-binding poll.
Heads up; the last time (that I recall) we did a Challenge order the tires arrived in time for the last few races of the season - not sooner.

If you are without tires to race on this may not be a cure all for you.

Sneaking the osmo!
A couple of sponsor updates:

Cannondale - the hold has lifted, we can order bikes & frames again through RB

Challenge Tires - the deal isn't great and Stokes pointed out that it is cheaper to buy through http://www.worldclasscycles.com/ out in Commack Long Island than to get them from Challenge. So we aren't pursuing anything with Challenge at this time.

Is anyone interested in purchasing a Van Dessel bike in the coming months? Both Patrick and I have attempted (Patrick multiple times/ways) to contact Edwin about giving him money, but you know...Edwin.

I'm sort of thinking about approaching him at the next cross race I see him at and say, "X number of Kissena riders are interested in giving you money. Will you take it?"

Seriously though, maybe the power of numbers will get him to respond. Anyway, if you are interested, let me know...
I am interested in VD. OOPS! Seriously, I'm hoping I can get a full tilt boogie deal since he's revamping the frame for 2015.

Or an Aloominator. But yes, I'd rather get a Van dessel than a CAADX.
Totally agree...those new aluminum frame are made state side...as in United State side.

It looks like the new FTB is only disc brake.

Maybe there are some old ones around you can pick up cheap? I'm doubtful, I think he sells them off on eBay.

The aluminum frames are on performancebike.com, though not a lot of details.

Good reminder that Performance carries Van Dessel. I'll keep my eye out for any super special deals, otherwise, my "do not pay retail" chip is still fully activated.
Spoke with Edwin today about the above.  When Interbike is over, he's driving the bus back to Jersey.  He should be back on September 17.  Reach out to him then.  I can if necessary, and get the pdf.

Edwin has finally updated the website:

I HAS EXCITE!
OH SNAP !!! And the new Hellafaster is proudly made in the USA...the antithesis of the outgoing model.  It is also 6000 series aluminum...Yacks falls down....twitches and goes into convulsions.
