However not all paint and painting processes are equal. The color of the basecoat and the layers of paint topcoat applied as well as the quality of the actual paint all play a part.
UV protective clearcoats are also available, but expensive.
Hence you will see far fewer expensive red cars with obvious fade.
(Although this statistic may be influenced by other factors such as a greater number of expensive cars being garaged and not left on the street.)

I just got one of these. Most of what makes a Z1 awesome at less then half the price.
