Mountain Biking

Yep - good fun in the woods.

I'm only off Christmas day this week. Next Sunday is cross racing in LI, but this Saturday I can ride.
I rode in Stillwell trail last Sunday on my new 29er. It's the most technical trail in LI for me riding my older GT on 26 inch wheels. However I felt more confident on the bigger wheel hardtail that it was actually enjoyable for me riding.

I'm sold on 29ers (looking at you @yacks).
Forecast for Saturday looks good. Let’s get folks out on mountain bikes.

Stillwell?

glacier?

cunningham?

I'll do either Stillwell or Glacier. Although Stillwell is closer. I'll pass on Cunningham.
@Phil Maronilla I forgot about having talked about riding Mtn bikes today until I was getting dressed to go out on the road this morning. Sorry to bail. I’m up to ride next weekend
No worries @PatrickGrehan It's too nice out not to ride on the road anyway...

I'm looking to hit some trails this sunday ,open to venue suggestions
anyone?
Close by - Stillwell Woods?

I'm down for Sunday. Happy to go anywhere. Anyone ever ride in Blue Mountain Reserve?
Stillwell is fun, but it is supposed to rain Saturday and those trails do not drain well. If we ride in Long Island I would suggest Glacier Ridge as the local CLIMB guys say it tends to drain better.

Not familiar with Blue Mountain reserve. Where is that?

Near Peekskill. Bit of a haul for you but I've heard good things. I also would like to try Six Mile Run but that's also a bit of a drive. No idea what either are like after a rain.
I’m up for glacier ridge
Blue mountain is a different beast all together. There are singletrack sections and wide carriage trail ones. Lots of rock gardens and steep climbs (Ned's left lung). Also deer.

Shall we say Glazier ridge 9am Sunday morning
i can drive from Brooklyn two bikes fit awarkedly on the car
I’ll be there. If someone want to take the train to me I can lend them a Mtn bike if they don’t have one and want to join the silliness
Mark - I'll ride with you unless someone else from Brooklyn needs a ride. In that case I can also drive.
Jim
ill pick you up

One of my customers won 3 spots in the lottery yesterday, and he is looking for company.

If you are interested, please email me ASAP @ Kasia@redbeardbikes.com, and I will connect you to Sebastian to sort out the details.

Thanks!
Kasia
While not as far as Arizona...

The local NJ MTB guys tend to love Stewart Forest in Newburg. Its supposed to be pretty flowy. I’d like to head up there one weekend. Any takers?

I'll be up in Western Mass this weekend and will try to hit some trails up there but I'd be up for a trip to Stewart on the following Sunday - 1/27
Rode an event at Stewart back in 2015, on my cross bike. With Neil Ross and Jess Schpero. It was a ton of fun, Stewart is a big place, and you can pick your choice of what to ride -- from technical up/down single track, to wide two track gravel road, always wanted to come back.

Depending on what trails you hit, it'll be infinitely more technical than Cunningham or Glacier.

I would take a trip with you @PatrickGrehan
@PatrickGrehan if I can procure a bike in time I'd be interested as well!
@Nathaniel Picard Busky I am thinking about The Weeknd of the 26-27th of the weather is good. I could lend you a Mtn bike if you want to join
@PatrickGrehan That'd be awesome!! I'm in!
When it’s raining like this , I like to explore Brooklyn’s waterfalls
