This Vuelta has been full of drama from the start unlike the Giro, which took a while to get exciting. 

I should have known to keep EF Education First riders off my fantasy team. Both Urán and Carthy crashed and abandoned today. TJ crashed in a completely separate incident. Sometimes it feels like that team can’t get out of their own way. 

Min fairness, A Jumbo rider took out Urán and Carthy, but I just felt like venting since I was hoping for great things from those guys

I think I’m last in our mini league, but still confident !

the last 5km or so definitely was amazing racing, what an effort! "Enorme, Tio" said his masseur when he crossed the line.

There's still a side of me that would have liked seeing Crawdok put it all together, but Mikel sure out wit and out rode them all.

I so clearly overestimated Euskadi's interest in racing anywhere but the Basque country.

I was convinced that Quintana was a has been. Good for stage wins, but no longer really a contender. Boy was I wrong. He has netted some of you guys a really good haul of points. 

In contrast, I had a lot of hope for Chaves. I had been reading rumors that he was on excellent form. I was pretty sure that he would be consistently in the mix and in the top 5 if not the podium. Again, boy was I wrong. 

Looks like Jeff will crush us all (just like Roglic is crushing his rivals), but there are enough surprises that the fantasy podium is as up for grabs as the Vuelta podium

Losing Kruijswijk was a big hit for me. I was banking on Roglic cracking the last week as we've come to expect but looks like he may have overcome that. I hope so - even though it will be my doom in the fantasy league I am rooting for him. 

Chavez was also a disappointment but I also was hoping for good things from De Gendt.

Looking forward to Saturday.

I was less than 50 points behind before yesterday's stage. I was trying to do the calcs in my head and it seemed possible that I could pull it off but in the end Roglic was the smart pick.
