Totally fascinating read on past KCC racers & results (Dave Trimble, Chabanov, etc) as well as outing @Hotlist as KILLING IT as the racing-est Kissena out there with (not surprisingly) Vlad close on his heels.

Sad news. My first race bicycle was a Serotta Club Series that I still own. Bought used in '84, and with Ben's initials brazed on the inside. It's a great bicycle that I refuse to sell, simply for nostalgia reasons. It looks like this closing is the work of investment bankers. Shame on them. Here's another article.

I'm not that close to people who are close to Serotta. Read published stuff from old bike industry hands, like Zinn, and there is lots of love. I think there are just as many who are thinking 'good riddance.'
Serotta was ahead of his time in many respects and for a long time. I think he dropped the torch, literally and figuratively, years ago. His work seemed to be more and more as a businessman. Not that I blame Ben: Sachs is a legend, but it's a hard way to make a living.
Serotta was certainly trying many different business relationships over the past several years in the way of partnerships and distribution of products, which I saw as shoring up flagging interest in his bikes. It's hard to know whether he should have seen this coming or not, but judging from all the different things he was trying, I have a hard time believing that his latest move--to sell his company and name--was his last move before shuttering at least some of his operation.

Later, I tried out the aloominator. He only had 56s and 58s on hand. I pulled for the 56 just as Lennard Zinn of VeloNews asked for it. He took the 58 disc. The 56 was only a little big for me. that 58 was way too small for him.
Rides well. I also had a photog shoot me riding the pump track on it. I hope that surfaces.
Rode hydraulic rotor discs, hybrid cable and hydraulic discs as well. Also an electric bike (left the Garmin off it--don't want to be accused of Strava doping).
