You know what you do when you have a pan with flaking teflon? You throw it out. That stuff is toxic.

I too am surprised that VeloNews ran it. Except not...even if he was clean, he's 1)the most boring interview in the world and 2)retired so there's no excuse to even talk to him.

You know what's really amazing? Die-hard Lance fan Fat Cyclist excoriated GH's book in a two part blog.

Like the part where George and his friends tied his younger brother to a tree, left him there and then "Nice" George returned hours later to shoot his brother in the leg at point blank range while staring into his eyes.

Which reminded me of this one time, at band camp...err, I mean, in a Belgian race. I had made a group of 6. Peloton behind us, a handful of leaders well in front of us. I think, "Oh, good, we've got 3 or 4 laps to go, we'll roll it together until 1 lap to go, then fireworks."

Oh, so wrong, so very wrong. We the group (minus me, I was too in shock) attacked the shit out of each other. It was brutal. We all ended up dribbling across the finish line in 3 groups of 2.

I reviewed the "a ride with George" dvd.  In it, he expresses some surprise that so many people see him as a nice guy.

So, let's get this straight.  Hooking someone more than a car width is an appropriate tactical maneuver, even though it is prohibited by the rules and is dangerous, whereas attacking in a feed zone, which isn't prohibited by the rules and doesn't directly endanger anyone, is inappropriate.

Uh, a coaster brake and a belt drive does not make a "maintenance free" bike.

I know tinkering isn't everyone's bag, but simple things like changing tubes/tires, oiling/replacing chains, and twisting a friggin' rear derailleur barrel adjuster aren't hard to learn and master.  And come on, a front hand brake is about the easiest damn thing to maintain/service.
