I didn't disagree...

About Ted King: fucker still managed 46 kmph for the TT, on a road bike, with separated shoulder.  Amazing.

Why does Ragbot disagree?

Woah! Cav with the sweet little bunny hop.
is velonews.com down for anyone else?  wondering if it's my connection or if their servers can't handle the TDF spike in traffic

Oh, this is good stuff from Brian Holm about Cavendish:

Yes...stupid plastic bike !
the article paints a wonderful picture of angry cav...

"...I just heard him yelling inside the bus but I don’t know what about. I think nobody can understand him when he’s yelling. Nobody has a clue what he’s saying."

i would love to see that.

I was able to plug Cav's rant into a google translator...."This plastic bike is shit ! I haven't ridden such rubbish for donkey's years.  I feel like I'm bladdered steering that bike. The front end is all skew-whiff ! It is wonky shite ! Specialized should change the name from "Venge" to "Shite" cause that's what is is. I am brassed off!  Why can't I ride the Allez E5, it's the dog's bollocks ! WHY ?  The front end is stiffer and I wouldn't loose my front wheel and go arse over elbow in a round a bout.  I was full of beans coming into the finale and I was going to unload a beastly sprint.  That bike threw a spanner in the works.    Greipel is shit !  He wangled his way into that win.  He's a nancy boy and a tosser !  Loosing to him makes me spew pavement pizza."

even the mighty google has no clue what the Manx-Missle is saying....
I'm not sure if this is good or bad... I'm very hesitant to promote anything to do with Hitler... but I hope you get a laugh out of it - if anyone has a problem with it email me offline and I'll pull it.

OK, I know I'm a bit late to the party. I avoid spoilers like the clap these days.

But, uh, Yaks just made the post of the year.
Jules only pulls out this eyewear for the big stages....

ZING... looks like homie lost a bet or something...
and that's what happens when you go shoulder to shoulder with fat cav.

of course, cav will blame the argos rider, even though it was clearly his fault.  did it appear that he couldn't hold steegman's wheel today?
Jeesh, no question that was intentional on Cav's part.  His weight is shifted for impact as he moves left..

Man, the more I watch it the more vicious it seems.  Almost like a hockey check!  I suppose that'll happen when you see it on repeat in slow-motion.  I'm not a sprinter, so what do I know.

He's on my fantasy team so of course it was legal.
also, fortunate that there was a little gap between them and the next riders. crash during a group sprint but only 1 guy hit the floor......
That little prick... I've noticed Chav slamming guys like this to get the wheel he wants. He's just cemented his place on my team.

Can't wait to see how many minutes Fruju takes out of GC tomorrow (ooh, ahh).

I've only seen it on my phone but it looks like Cav's wheel almost slips out in front of him right before he leans in.
This is amazing:

Q: Was it your fault, Mark?
A: Was what my fault? *yank*

I'm putting Cav on my list of "people most likely to get pushed in front of an Orica Greenedge bus on a foggy day".

"mark - why are you taking my tape recorder??"
No way.  You cannot work a cheeky 'shutting the door' technique on a rival sprinter (standard operating procedure for all spent leadout guys) and then blame the sprinter for coming round- the long way.

Just unlucky, if the leadout guy wasn't totally shelled from his effort, he'd not have taken a tumble from that.
to be fair to cav, the other guy did go down like a sack of shit.
I'm really hoping someone accuses Veelers of diving.  It's too bad he's not Italian, he could go into soccer. Then, as the love-child of my two favorite sports, he could finally emerge the one true representative of Americans everywhere who are confused by football.

Cav as the english soccer hooligan is pretty spot on too...
What a sportsman!

Cavendish issues tepid apology: http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2013/jul/09/tour-de-france-mark-cavendish

Having watched more closely, it seems Veelers moved over ever-so-slightly as he came out of the leadout - "shutting the door" is a stretch.   Cav is certainly entitled to his line, but there was no reason for him to lower his shoulder so aggressively - it certainly didn't help him regain position.

The rest is conjecture: I'd suggest frustration motivated the overreaction, as he knew he was about to be denied, again, by one of the Germans.  And, yes, Veelers collapsed way too easily after burning his last match.
Cav's is a world class sprinter...he has plenty of handling skills.  He knows what he did today.  He had plenty of room on the right.  I don't want to hear "the road was going left, so I moved left."  In the finale, it is all about HIM and anybody else can go scratch.  I don't think he gives a rats ass who he bowls over or through to get to the line.  The way to beat Cav's is to go early...guys are figuring that out.  Cav's has 3 different guys who can beat him this year and his leadout is inconsistent.  He doesn't know who to follow on any given day in the sprint.  He is frustrated and rather than go quietly and graciously he goes all-in-douche...."It's my bike !....the road was going left !!!....Wahaaaaa!!!!!"  Cav's is a tool and a piss ant and most of those bigger sprinters could pick him up and bounce him off a curb.  One of these days that sprinting Napoleon is going to get his little Manx ass handed to him.
