Is this the race where last year WDC sprinted in the  crit with 1 lap to go and almost won the road race with a suicide attack?
I'm out for the van both days as well, but I'll do the road race on Sunday if someone's driving and has an open spot. I'll even bring some of Lim's Rice Cakes, too.
Ok so I think the one thing we need to know is whether Condon is racing the 3s or the 4s!
I'm waiting to hear back. I'll let you know as soon as I do.

Hear back about the upgrade or other stuff?
About the upgrade.
Dude's, just to say about the group rental thing.  It helps the group somewhat if we coordinate on the rental as opposed to jumping ship and blagging a ride.
I haz confuze.

I thought I was in Adam Fabian's car. Then I thought I was in Jeff Condon's car. Now it looks like I'm in nobody's car.

Ryan and Adam: I'm in for the van.
Jeff W. it looks like I may only be going on Sunday as I have a family commitment (that I forgot about) on Saturday afternoon that I need to get back for. I'm also contemplating upgrading and doing the Cat 3 road race, but waiting for confirmation on that. Sorry for being so non-committal but just trying to figure out my logistics. You know I like a good Whitey race commute.
Sorry for the confusion on my end, Whitey. My car situation is complicated. While I technically have one, it's a 2 hour train ride away to get it, and I'm not going to be able to pull off going back to get it for the race.

As for the rental. I wish I could do it, but the cost isn't the only factor -- I've got non-racing life stuff I should probably address, making two days of out-of-town racing a little impractical, as much as I want to do it.
Okay: Me, Stokes, Whitey, Adam N. and Clifford in the van. 299+ tax is $60 each for the weekend. Adam, if you want to drive it home on Saturday that's okay with me as long as you pay your share of extra gas.

This all leaves Condon free to do as he chooses.

Now the only question will be when do our TTs start. In my experience, we are going to want to get there 90 minutes early to reg, warm up, and do a good TT. If the TTs go off at 8 that means being there at 6:30. That means leaving at 5 or earlier. Ugh.

(Why do we do this to ourselves???)
Anyone got course profiles (for the TT especially).  Finding it hard to identify them.
Adam: the TT is uphill all the way; only moderately steep. There's a turn very near the end, which is your signal to basically go full gas and try to hang on.
Aero equipment recommended or no?
Can someone at least put a Garmin file up from previous years so I can get an idea of gearing?

Work with me peoples!!
Donovan smashed it with clipons, disc wheel cover, and TT helmet.  I was 4th but a decent way back going cannibal.  I think it depends on how comfortable you are in that position, as it's uphill but not too steep in many sections.

The fun part is when they line you up for the crit and the top 5 from the TT get to go front row. Having multiple teammates get called up = INTIMIDATION!

And don't forget the salad spinner prime.
WilliamDC took something like fifth in the TT in the 3s last year. Ask him about equipment.
OK, this is getting complex so I'll simplify.

Can I get away with 23, 25, or 28 at the back.

Thank you in advance.
I've done it a few years back. I had clip-on bars, but given that I had not practiced on them I didn't feel comfortable in the race on them - given that it is a narrow rough road.
It is not too steep and hence a big ring climb, except for the top 1/4 of the climb. My lowest gear was 42x23 and I never used it.

Thanks Ian-23 it is.
Ok, so it looks like I'm officially a little shy on points (having to do with how some PP races are categorized), so I'm in for the 4/5 race. Since the crit is a little earlier on Saturday I may be able to do both days even though I kinda suck at the TT. Will confirm later and let you know.

I did it cannibal last year with no aero equipment at all. I think I got 10th. You don't really need it but I bet it would help. Dont do the final climb on the tt bars as it's to steep.
William did well, what was his set up?
When raced collegiate, Princton used the same course for their TT. Like everyone is saying its a big ring climb until the last 1/4. That said, aero gear is illegal in collegiate racing so the thought never entered my head. I'd Imagine it couldn't hurt, but I wouldn't say it is needed. I hate TTs, and I'm not the biggest fan of climbing but this is a really fun course. Good luck guys!
Ok, i'm in for the whole shabang and can have spots for two people. I do need to leave directly after the 4/5 crit on Saturday. I did initially speak to Whitey and Adam F. about driving them, but I think Jeff is in the van now.

For the TT last year I rode with clip on bars and Vlad's aero helment. I didn't help me much or possibly it's cuz I suck at TTs.  I may try putting on the clips ons and practicing during my openers on Friday. Otherwise I'll go cannibal as I don't have high expectations for this.

Im kinda interested in going just to do the TT and practice for bigger stage races.
Ok jeff.

I'm in for the RR or maybe the crit as well. If I can catch your ride.

My goals for this are OPERATION GET CONDON UPGRADE POINTS so he can get the hell out of the 4's.

How many you need?
i won't be using any kind of aero equipment a) because i do not own any and b) because i don't want to look like these guys.
Get condon 2 points and we have a deal.

Yes, Coach.
