Group Ride (Sat & Sun)

I'm telling you...we were standing at the shop. We all got on our bikes, rolled out of the parking lot, stopped just past the playground on the left, at the entrance to the trails and "poof!" gone.

It's no problem, at least from my perspective, as I've ridden solo to/from Piermont many times. I had you guys in sight and felt I was going to catch up, but I caught the light on the way out of Piermont. I then proceeded to take our standard route up Rockland Road, and at that point it occurred to me that you guys might have gone a different way. I know there was talk of taking the dirt roads back but wasn't certain that's what we decided upon. So I proceeded on, stopping at Kiku Sushi for a while after my climbs to make sure I hadn't gotten ahead of you. When I didn't see you guys by the time I arrived at GWB, I figured it was just a mis-communication.

Anyway, all else today was as everyone described, and really awesome. Great to meet Emily, Julie and Craig. During the solo part of my day I did some paceline-ish pacing on 9W, but apart from that it's tough to accomplish a one-person paceline. Just shy of 84 miles for me today, which left me wiped out. Awesome job on the 103 miles Bruce...not sure I could have done another mile let alone 19!

Have a great weekend everyone.

Sunday 3/23-
Leaving Jersey side of the GWB at 9AM, heading to Sparkill and back.  I have to be back in Ft. Lee by 11:00.  Post if you'd like to join so I know to look for you.  Pace will be relaxed but slightly neurotic.
i'll be there, anyone else coming from Brooklyn want to meet at BB at 8 am?

Patrick, I owe you one! So sorry. We'll see you next time!
@neilx sorry have to bailout last second, got a werid calf cramp this morning
@Chi-No problem
Don't wait for me. See you guys in piermont maybe.
Had a great time meeting some new faces on the Saturday ride! Hadn't explored many back roads yet so it was cool to see more of the 'burbs, etc. Thanks Marc for the climbing encouragement and form advice, I'll keep working at it!
2 to 4 in prospect today. Endurance pace.
@mpelrberg, I'll see you at GAP at 2.
Great ride yesterday with Marc!  Awesome group of peeps!!  I do have to admit I really liked the off-roading part.  I honestly didn't know that could be done with the tires I have, or else I would do it more often :-) Wish I could have made it to the track today for the group workout, but unfortunately had to work.  Hope everyone had a good ride/workout today.  See you soon!

Oh yes folks, I introduced Julie to the double top secret off-road path in between 9W and the low road through pier. There's lots of fun to be had just off the beaten path of the usual routes. Looking forward to the next ride!

Gwynna thanks to info from you and Josh C, I now have a better understanding of the SIG program with NYCC.

It sounds like they do a good job. And as my wife pointed out their structured program with required rides and upgrades to other more advanced group rides is the kind of thing people like. And anything that gets more people riding is awesome.

But, I'll lean on you guys to spread the word with new members that there are good learning opportunities with our group rides as well.
This is off topic but it explains my absence on rides, etc.
I'm in desparate need of a place to stay/live on a temporary and very infrequent basis. The landlords at my studio in greenpoint are convinced I'm living on the commercial lease and I need to show otherwise or I might lose the pace for me and my studio mate of 16 years which would be a huge screwing over of him and well...that would be bad.
If anyone has any leads, is in need of a house sit, whatever shoot me an email or give me a call. I would only need a few nights a week, a couch and a place to drop a back pack until  I can sort out something going forward.
Thanks for any help,

@KeithSnyder-Will keep my ears open.  (That sucks.)

Also...heading out to Prospect Park now to try to get in an hour from 11:00 to 12:00 while the rain holds off.
Really going to Park now...
Ride over the GWB post-race?  Looks too nice to pass up!

I'll likely ride over the GWB after Sunday's race in Central Park. Saturday's plan still up in the air.
I'm planning on riding back from Cherry Blossom/Branchbrook saturday afte rmy race ends around 12:30. Possible ride back to Manhattan over the GWB.

Also planning on possible ride over GWB after Central Park race Sunday that ends around 7:30. Possibly go for a later ride Sunday in NJ. Planning around 4-5 hour ride at relatively easy pace.
Craig London - I am looking to do 4 to 5 hours GWB to GWB on Sunday. Possibly a repeat of Mark's Saddle River wormhole ride from a few weeks ago (http://www.strava.com/activities/124238977) . I was thinking of going at 9am though for the standard meetup.

I can swing over to CP to meet you post race - want to do some of River Road or a lap of Englewood before returning to the bridge to meet 9am riders ?

I'd like to join you guys Sunday if that's cool!  I guess I will meet you at the bridge by 9....

If this sinus shit lets off I'll be joining the 9am group.  Foghat ride.
Same, I'll join the 9am group tomorrow, see you over the GWB.
I'm heading out for an afternoon (Sunday) ride to catch the sun.  Leaving at 1pm, BB 1:30, Hudson Path (which will be crowded), Riverside Drive, GWB around 2:30, easy ride up.  River Road where I'll pick up the pace.  Easy 9W home with a hill or two thrown in.
Post here, or hit me up if I should wait for you at either bridge.  Bring extra tubes.

Times are adjustable, but I won't wait if I don't know you're riding.
Hey hope you didn't wait for me.  Didn't get out of bed until 9.  Chills and fever all night.

Might be into a few recovery laps in Prospect later.
Going to be at the park going slow around 230-330p.  Maybe a snack stop afterward.
Thanks @JoshuaC‌ for leading today's mini-group Jersey wormhole ride. Great day in the sun. Got a head start on a bike shorts tan line that by summer will surely be turning heads on the beach.
Thanks Josh for navigating the 'wormhole." It's easily becoming one of my favorite rides. See ya'll soon!!
