Adjusting for weather...

My new departure time is 9:30ish most likely will head to the park, but could do NJ if roads feel clear enough.

Post here or text me: 347.225.1058 if interested in joining.

The GWB Sidewalk is now open.

I'm heading out at around 3pm to eat up the rest of daylight.

I'll be out there tomorrow for the Standard Kissena Group Ride. 9 a.m. GWB, so don't wait for me in Brooklyn.
I plan to be at the BB tomorrow at 8. See you all at BB or GWB
I'll be there at the GWB Sunday.
I'll be at BB tomorrow.

Just got back from Jersey. Roads looking good. Enough time today for melt and dry. Even the GWB wasn't the usual spring "splatter-fest." Shouldn't have too many ice worries tomorrow, even as the temps drop below freezing tonight.

See you all tomorrow.
See ya'll tomorrow!!

So here's an interesting tid-bit for the next time I try to rally a group for a wormhole ride.

There are basically two main routes I follow. One I call "Saddle River" and the other "Franklin Lakes." In my head, Franklin Lakes was always "the long" wormhole ride, taking in some pretty cool climbs, including one where Yang and I had a bit of a show-down way back in the way-back.

Anyway, now that I'm all high tech with a cycling computer and what-not, it turns out that the "long" wormhole ride is exactly 3 miles longer than the "short" Saddle River ride! Three miles. THREE. 57 vs 60 miles. Ha.

Oh...perception v reality!

The climbing IS better on Franklin Lakes however, clocking in at 3795ft at an overall gradient of 4% versus 3418ft at a 3% average.

Anyway, I'm happy to have these newly discovered facts in my head so that I might cajole more of you to join me one of these days on the Franklin Lakes ride.
I'm out for tomorrow -- found out I have to be back pretty early. Enjoy!
Short out and back from Bklyn to GWB for me this morning. Family obligations kept me from heading off with the group into Jersey but hope the rest of the ride went well for everyone.

Nice big group ride today. Someone else might have a more accurate headcount, but I think we were at least 10. A couple of flats on the way slow things up somewhat, but tis the season! After Malcolmson took the low road sprint, we rolled into Sparkill pretty easy. Most split off to Piermont, for what I assume was coffee and conversation.

JP, Sean (who I learned got 4th in his first ever bike race last weekend!), Patrick and I soldiered on to do the standard Rockland Lake extension. We kept it civil on the all of the lumps, bumps and climbs. At the turn "home" on 9W, I made a somewhat last second decision to take advantage of the sun, and a surely napping son at home, to go up to the Apple Orchard. Some of the roads are pretty shitty, others nice and smooth. I took the Little Tor climb (7-ish minutes of steep and persistent ouch), rolled around, stopped for 44 ounces of coke (unplanned long ride, trying to stave off unplanned bonk) and back home again. All told 73 miles and 4813ft of climbing.
Only Kissena on the Triangle ride...(I know Yang's...sad trombones).  Smallish pack that got smaller the second we hit the first ramps.  There was wind, yes there was wind.  It whittled down to about 10 riders. Pot holes galore...like flying through anti-aircraft fire. I got gapped once and had to chase back on...then cramped on the last climb and had to chase again.  Brutish, nasty stuff...285 weighted watts for 3 hours and I felt everyone of em...snagged a few KOM's today too...I am the KING of heartbreak hill and My Bloody Valentine's Lane.

Eloy also joined us for part of the Rockland Lake extension. My brain is still a little bonky. Sorry buddy.

John,
That sounds like a great plan, I pray that the Port Authority will open the bridge tomorrow but it is highly doubtful.
@yackitori are you doing triangle? I'm on the fence, been a while since on the bike.
Oops totally forgot about the park race tomorrow. Will try to be there I instead.
