Good thing I checked before turning in
see you at the BB at 8am, Dale

I'd prefer to claim the latter, JP ....but after we split at 108 and riverside I coasted as much as I could back to Brooklyn. 90mi in the end with 4,400ft of climbing? (so said my garmin) in 90+ degrees brought on the hurt for sure. But worth it -good recovery today.mugwump said:Kudos to Chris. He was either just under or just over 100mi for the day.
We climbed out of Piermont via ash and tweed, then over the top of the mountain and out 9W to Rockland Lake. We went to New City and then some wormholes home.
Perhaps the white EPS foam is cooler. Or he's just that tough.
Awkward tan lines are a badge of honor among cyclists.JulieJones said:I was also teased several times for wearing a Kissena winter vest during the summer. My excuse....but the tan lines though! I guess I could just cut sleeves off my other ones :-) On the way back we hit a super secret, shaded off road section that both me and my gatorskin tires totally dug!!! I can't believe I've ridden on 9W dozens and dozens of time and never knew about this section!
I would recommend the basic "Rockland Lake" ride. So basically, everything we did last week, except, when you get to 9W, instead of turning left to the Orchards, go straight into the park, veer left, head up and around the lake, then when you get back to 9W turn LEFT, go up that climb (traditional hammer spot), recover on the downside, regroup just past Toga bike shop and either drop down to Nyack/Piermont, or stay on 9W, go straight up past ROckland College, up the backside of tweed, down to 9W, rotating paceline home.Dale Suttle said:Any big plans for tomorrow? I'd like to do something similar to last Sat, but not quite such an ass kicking--maybe 10-15 miles shorter. I'll plan on BB at 8

I was wondering what you were doing back there... @Marc Bertucco my calves are insulted.eloy said:Dale, Vlad and I rode this morning. Cheers.
