Bummer I can't join, enjoy the pleasant weather.  Don't forget the post-ride sprint line reports!
Im at the GW theres a 5K in Washington Heights a lot of traffic and you have to go behind the hospital because the street is closed...
We are at GW jersey - holla.
Great group ride today.  Met Bruce, Mark, and Patrick at BB, and Julie and John at GWB.  Took the low road to Piermont and back via 9W.  It was VERY cold on the way out, but much more pleasant on the ride home.  Good pace, good company, and Piermont bikes has upped their game with a better variety of snacks!  Thanks everyone for coming out today!
Awesome riding today! Jill and Julie hung tough with the hard tempo (both a bit shredded from racing the day prior). Jill cranking out a sprint at Grant's Tomb even. She's got this!

@Yang At State Line Bruce threw down a big lead-out, Patrick got a good jump from the back, but needed a smidge more passing speed to stop us getting his wheel. Late challenge by Mark put the hurt on.

That looks like a lot of fun. I can't wait for my first state line sprint. Hopefully I'll be around for a ride next weekend.
Sunday is looking like a good day for a post-Grant's group ride.  Alpine and Bradley Tweed perhaps?
I'm in!

anyone not racing on Saturday and want to ride? i don't think i can make Sunday.
Hey Will, I was planning on getting an early start and then catching the cat 4 men's race at 11:30 on my way back home. Leaving from the Jersey side of the GWB at 8am. Interested in joining?

I have to work all day Sunday, so I'm out of commission for the group ride this week...
@JillSink I'm super keen to roll out. What's the elevation going to be like?
hey @DavidHocker work has reared its ugly head so any ride this weekend has been thrown in doubt :( i will let you if i can sneak out on Saturday (hopefully yes).
Ill be out Sunday!! Ill prob turn around at Piermont since I have some time constraints...

No worries, dude. Just keep me updated. I'm still planning on that early roll out.
@JamesShaw the elevation for the entire ride is probably around 3500ft, maybe a little more. Anyone know the condition of river road?
River road is good, I rode it this morning.  There's sand at the bottom of the downhill at the entrance, so slow down around that sweeping curve, but everything else is clear.  Still a rock or two on the road, and I think they may have made the hills a little steeper.
what time tomorrow morning?

8am entrance to BB, Brooklyn side, 9am NJ side of GWB
roger that
I'll be there.
Guys,I'm out. Gotta get over this cold. Enjoy the beautiful weather!
I was wondering , would anybody ever be interested in leaving earlier some days,

I had to be back in Brooklyn by 12 this past Sunday , so i rode with a friend in work , ended up doing Bradley and still made in back in time , saw a few Kissena's out solo and with other groups .
Heading back over the GWB , a guy in a Mengoni kit, made the first turn and his carbon steerer broke ,his bars were completely severed , props to him as he managed to keep the bike up right and avoid bringing us all down .

That Mengioni guy should lower his dosage (I kid I kid, glad everyone was OK).

Mark, I'd be interested in the family man hours, aka 8am GWB.

Just to say, I had a very enjoyable ride yesterday in great weather. All that spinning on the way home was a real workout too. Looking forward to the next one.
Folks, I'm hoping to pre-empt our usual Sunday Ride in favor of a track session to work on things like pace lining, attacking, leadout trains, and sprinting.  this isn't a regularly-scheduled event, more like a once or twice a year sort of thing.  The timing was chosen because it seems like we have more folks interested in racing Branchbrook on Saturday than Floyd on Sunday, and as we get into April, the track will be busier and there will be more racing.

So that we keep within our traditional Sunday ride framework, I'm thinking that the folks who meet 8am at the BB should do the same, or meet nearby and then ride over to the velodrome.  I don't know my way through Brooklyn to the velodrome so well,l but I when I go to the velodrome from manhattan, I go over the 59th street bridge and take on-street bike paths starting at the beginning of Queens Blvd.  I figure that folks can ride over the Pulaski bridge from Brooklyn to get near the same point.

I figure that the first part of the time on the track should just be folks getting a feel for it, without any fast or hard efforts.  Then we can move on to more structured things.

Currently, afternoon rain is predicted for Sunday (50%).  The Star Track folks have a 1pm session.  Rain cancels track events, and we should do the same.
I would even suggest, from Brooklyn, take Greenpoint Ave then hook up with 34th avenue to Flushing Meadows, then Booth Memorial. Greenpoint and 34th both have bike lines (but watch out for double parked cars on the length of 34th avenue).

I am not racing this weekend but instead plan on doing the 4 hour kitchen sink ride that is on tap in the Peaks training plan tomorrow (Saturday). Plan on starting at BB at 8 - GWB at 9 and heading to Piermont and back (at least). Given the need for VO2Max efforts in hour two I think 9W north instead of the back roads heading north makes more sense. Anyone want to join me?
I'm down Patrick. Will meet you at canal and the west side highway
Sean - I'll keep an eye out for you
