Looks like Saturday will be the better day to ride outside.

The bridge opened up around 10am. I crossed and went to Jersey.
The roads were much better over there.
Looks like serious rain tomorrow. But, if it's clear, I'll be at the bridge at 9am, go north for at least 1:10, then come back. Family stuff might make me cut it short.

JP - From what I've heard its supposed to be freezing rain. It's not a weather phenomenon that happens much here but I've my fair share of experience with it on the west coast. It's basically instant black ice. Be careful.

Thanks. I think I'm passing on outdoors. While the roads are heavily salted, black ice is a worry.

While the weather forecast for this Sunday looks stellar, I'm not able to ride that day. Instead I'm planning an early Saturday ride, leaving Brooklyn by 6:30 and back by 1:00. Hoping to get 80 miles so Rockland Lake at least. Anyone game?

Hard tempo riding today. Bruce, Sean, Max, Brendan via low road. Brendan set a lotsa watts tempo. Fitness caught up with me and I watched them ride away (my watts wouldn't have powered a blinky light) and headed to Piermont while they tackled Clauseland (thanks for waiting Bruce). Piermont Bikes closed until Monday so found second wind and headed back down 9W picking off groups (top of the turkeys!). Saw fellow Cantabrian Alice at Strictly looking as strong as ever. Good medicine. Hoping for a repeat tomorrow.

Jeff and I took the early shift. Low road and up over Bradley/Tweed. Jeff headed down into Piermont and I headed further north solo for a lap around Rockland Lake and then down 9W. Also found the shop closed in Piermont so I had a coffee at Bunberri and crawled my way home. Just over 83 miles and toasty legs.

Solid riding today. There was sunshine! We saw Jeff crossing the bridge and then grouped up.
Brendan, Sean and Max took the TAN training seriously and threw down. I watched them dance up Clauseland like it was May and they didn't have a care in the world.
Coffee was a nice respite but served to remind me what was in my belly along 9W when the trio ramped it up again, where on the climbs I foolish believed I was going to hang on. I did have a lovely, head-wind solo back to the GWB where we regrouped.
Brendan and Sean are looking in good form, which of course goes without saying. And here's a thing, Max is in tune with his natural abilities to ride strong and with high intensity. Max looked great today, and it's only February. He picked up 51 PRs on Strava. Well done.
I'm looking forward to seeing some good teamwork this year.
My face is wind-burned and, dare I say, slightly sunburned, and my nose is in bad shape from all that wiping, but incredible to be overdressed in mid-Feb. Kind of on the fence about global warming after today's ride. Sad.
John, great to ride with you. Nice to run into Alice, and I see other Kissena's were able to get outside today. Jim, I can't believe you actually did it! You got out at 6:30 when you said you would, and put in those 80 miles. I lost a bet with myself, so kudos to you sir.
Will probably be as wet tomorrow as it was today, with the melting snow, so consider a fender if you're going out.
