I’m in, what time you trying to roll out?
7am Gwb Jersey side or is that aggressively early?
I’m with it. Any other takers?
Anyone doing the Redbeard Ride tomorrow?
Yes - it’s an 0800 start, going to go for 0700 and get some work in first.
Prob down for some RB laps
not 100% sure if there are RB prospect laps sched for tomorrow, but that’s what i’m planning on doing, easy, Jess might join...
Ah, right, don’t see one scheduled on FB. I’ll be out there a little early and then will swing by GAP at 8:00a to meet up with anyone interested.
I'm going to be out in Jersey (near Basking Ridge/Morristown) on Sunday and want to do a healthy ride with a good amount of climbing. I found a few routes on ride with gps, but wanted to check here if anyone has a preferred route or can recommend anything from first hand experience. Thanks!
Schooley's mountain Rd, Black River Rd are nice hills to climb around the Chester area.
GWB Meet Kissena Ride this Sunday Aug 18th

8AM Brooklyn Bridge, 9AM GWB roll

Connor @cpulvidente will be leading the ride. Enjoy & be safe everyone, I will be in Ireland for the next couple weeks.

& Good luck to everyone Sat! Bring home the W.
If the above ride is still on, I’ll meet y’all at the GWB at 9
Had a bunch of new people on the ride as well as some experienced hands.

reasonable pace, I hope, to Piermont.  I left the group to make my way to the Orchard.

Hope the return was good.

Here's my ride.

Thinking of doing an early (thinking BB at 7) morning ride to Piermont via River Road and then probably heading north up 9W from there Saturday morning. Anyone interested?
Looks like I have everything in place to go out and do

THE HO-HO-KUS LOOP this Sunday.

80 miles.  6700' of climbing.  I try to do it with one break--refill in Warwick, Ny.

I figure we meet at the Ho-Ho-Kus Train Station in Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ by 9am, roll out by 9:15.
(yes, that is really the town's name)

Should be about five hours.  If we're riding well.

Anyone interested?  I need to look at Zipcar to see what size car I can get and how many bikes and people I can take.

Ho-Ho-Kus station--https://www.google.com/maps/place/Ho-Ho-Kus+Station/@40.9974019,-74.1155481,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x89c2e49a664a5b33:0x42558e05d54d5e06!8m2!3d40.9974019!4d-74.1133594

Hoping parking is legal there on weekends.  The train does run on Sunday.  The train runs from Hoboken, though people can also take NJT from Penn Station to Secaucus and switch trains there.

Out of town, so wont be able to join, but could you please make the route public? Would love to save ;)
That ride sounds rad, but I can’t commit to an all day adventure this weekend. I am hoping to head out over the bridge tomorrow though if anyone is down!

Edit: whoops just read @Matt Budofsky post. Down to do 7am. Come through, nerds!
Anyone doing a Sunday morning ride up toward Piermont?
@JohnPowell I'd be down depending on what time you want to leave.
Would like to roll no later than 8:00a from BB
I will be out on the group ride tomorrow. Will likely aim for BB at 8am, but may meet at GWB at 9am. Can’t make HoHoKus ride, but it sounds like fun
I’ll meet at BB at 8:00a
Nice group today.  Anthony, John Powell, Patrick, Rich Freeman and myself.
(I had to cancel the Ho-Ho-Kus loop because the previous renter of the Zipcar I had reserved seemed to have driven off with the car)

We rode out to Piermont, where Patrick got his bike looked after, Rich and John went south, Anthony did a few hills and I went north to the Nyack Beach Gravel.

A bit of modification to that ride report…

It was definitely a nice group to match the nice weather. Patrick was generating so much power that his crank arm kept coming off. Once we got to Piermont, the mechs there took care of the repair while we chatted about proper cyclocross shoe choices.

Patrick had a quick errand to run in town once his bike was ready, so Anthony, Rich, and myself did a quick spin up to Nyack to kill time. We weren't paying attention and got pulled over for blowing a stop sign. While we were chatting with the police officer, a group of six cyclists blew the same stop sign in plain view of the officer. He waved them down and gave us all a nice lecture about how cyclists were ruining their quaint little riverside town.

Thankfully, there were so many of us, he had no desire to end up with a pile of paperwork, so let us off with just a warning. It's like they say, safety in numbers!!!

We rolled back to Piermont, making sure to put a foot down at every stop sign, and met back up with Patrick.

Then Anthony the Freight Train Engine got up front and pulled us and half a dozen other random riders all the way back to the GWB. That man has one speed.

Good times.
While the Ho-Ho-Kus Loop should probably go into an 'epic rides' thread...

The stars aligned and I did it today.  And for some reason, my legs felt really good the whole day.
