Group Ride (Sat & Sun)

Good idea for drills, esp since Kissena fall classic is next Sat! Goon squad assemble.
I should be there.
Some good sprints and cadence work (156 rpm!) at Rockleigh today. Feeling toasty. Bushwhacked everyone for State line and gas station Ricky stomped Strictly. Good times!
Big thanks to @JohnMalcolmson and @mugwump for all their advice, learned a lot today.

JP went north for more miles from Piermont. A brisk tailwind helped us get home even faster aboard the John and Ricky express.
Fun ride.

Maybe I should have taken the Kissena Train home; having a TTT squad would have been a nice way to rumble down 9W.

I climbed Clausland two different ways and then headed for 9W.  about 4100' of climbing, so that's good.

I did my usual of picking off riders on the way south; just screwed up by flatting on a rock I should have avoided. The guy who had been hiding in my draft for three miles was regretful at the time.

My road bike is at Redbeard so I drove out to Oldwick, NJ and followed a route I found on NYCC. I did this ride once before when it was kind of rainy but i think it’s my favorite “destination” ride a short (1hr) drive from Brooklyn. It was probably 50%+ dirt, lots of climbing and really scenic in some parts. Unfortunately, I took a little tumble on literally the last dirt sector- a steep descent with a bunch of ruts. I just got stuck in one and sort of coasted off the edge of the road and went down on the dirt, pretty slowly thankfully. Ended up with nothing more than a few scrapes and a hole in a jersey that already had a hole in it. Otherwise, it was a really rad day and we should get a group out here and explore a bit more!

Game for Orchards Sunday
Meeting some prospective new members Sat morning 9AM GAP if anyone is interested in some easy breezy laps
@JohnOlsson I'll most likely join you. I just need to make sure I keep clear of your path in case you decide to crash again.
I’m in for a ride on Sunday. What is the Orchards ride?
Sunday to Piermont, Bradley-Tweed maybe.
I'm bringing apple-sausage rice cakes for the Orchards ride (to share). Bc Orchards...

There are orchards in the town of Conklinville.  They're at the top of the South Mountain hill.  It's probably another 10 miles past Piermont.

I'm hoping to do it.
what time are we thinking - 7am from BK too early?

I’m in.

What time tomorrow at GWB, fellas?
8AM BB, 9AM GWB...it's awful dark outside in the morning this time of year
Should be at the GWB by 910
Beautiful day out there.

James, Jason F, John M, John O, Ricky and myself rolled out to River Road and points north.  Malcolmson turned back at Piermont, but the rest of the group went on to The Orchard.

Tried to take a flatter route, but I still managed over 4700' of climbing, meaning the Brooklynites must have put in over 5k.

Fun was had by all.  I hope.

Great ride today! 🤙🏻
Monster ride today! The picturesque Fall scenery totally distracted me from realizing it would be a 100+ mile day. JP did not disappoint...his wormhole routes are class!

Ate 5 out of 6 rice cakes on the road & passed out on the couch for 3hrs when I got home.
Fantastic ride today - awesome route, JP! Strava says 5600 ft. for BK starting point.
Considered giving up the vegetarian diet for a day to try one of John's chicken apple sausage coconut sugar soy sauce rice cakes.
8AM BB, 9AM GWB. Leave your rice cakes at home.
This Sundays GWB Meet Kissena ride is postponed to next Sat due to inclement weather.

The next two GWB meet Kissena rides are the following two Saturdays leading up to Supercross:

Sat Nov 2nd - GWB Meet Kissena Ride

Sat Nov 9th - GWB Meet Kissena Ride

Would appreciate the support for these next couple recruitment rides!
Don't forget...GWB Meet Kissena ride this Saturday!

We can talk about supercross, and holiday parties, and eat leftover Halloween candy.

9AM GWB start
What's going on tomorrow? Who's coming? Where are we going? For how long? What time? Where's my mommy? Who stole my cheese? Why is the sun keep on shining? Why does the sea rush to shore?
I am hoping to get a nice long ride in Sunday to offset all those short cyclocross races in the past few weeks. It will be chilly, but we get an extra hour of sleep! Yeah!

Who wants to join me?
