Group Ride (Sat & Sun)

Rode to the market on 9w.  Roads are clear with some damp spots. If anyone wants to get out tomorrow, let's go!!!!
Looking at @RobertMullen pics, I hope they made it to the train station before the roads were covered.  I was out yesterday as well, and here in NYC, it went from a few snowflakes to complete road cover in about 30 minutes.

Today, it looked like I was among the first over the GWB.  The NYC ramp was the worst of the conditions for the whole day.  Icy until the hairpin, then wet the rest of the way.

The roads were wet, a little slushy in places.  It went from sunny to overcast to starting to snow between 9W/Rockland Lake and Nyack College.  Fearing a snow that would either slow me down or both slow me down and close the GWB again, I opted not to take the longer Bradley climb up Clausland.  It stayed at that "starting to snow" light flakes most of the way home.

I only saw one or two cyclists until I got to the deli stop on 9W in Palisades.  From there, I maybe saw ten.

Good ride.

@DanSztanga I think it might be doable with the right set of skills n drills but I think it’s 100x more fun in a cross bike. Also the potential for flats is significant. If you hopped the train to the start and rode it on a mountain bike, it would still probably be a lot of fun.

@mugwump we had like 20min of heavy snow fall while we were heading to the train but the roads were only sketchy for like 5 of those minutes. We were definitely happy to make it onto the train before things got too gnarly.
Farewell ride Sunday - 9AM GWB.

Low road; Bradley Tweed; Piermont coffee stop; GWB
Putting out the feelers - next Saturday (Feb 1st), are people available/willing to do a meet Kissena ride? We have a number of people chomping at the bit to ride with us and I would love to get this underway.
@RichFreeman if it doesn’t snow I may be available... any of them coming from my neck of the woods?

Tentatively, I'll be game for that
Huge thank you to all that were able to join the ride today!  I will miss the club and those hilly roads dearly. Thanks for letting me pause the paceline for a mile or so to savor the feeling of pulling my teammates home.
Sorry that I wasn't able to make it out that early. I was out late for a friend's birthday party and needed a few extra hours of sleep. Managed to catch you guys coming back on 9W as I was on my way out though. Looked like a big turnout!

Good luck in Chicago! I may be going in May. If you any recommendations, I'd love to hear them.
Best wishes @AnthonyOtt

any chance we got a photo where anthony is awake?

Heres what I have
I love that the white jerseys are flanked by blue jerseys
Blue kits are FIRE.
Good looking crew out there today
Awesome ride today. With great engines like @AnthonyOtt. And thank you team for stopping not once, not twice, not even three times! But four times for me and my fallen chains and recurring flats.. I was feeling the good Kissena vibes today!

@AnthonyOtt - best of luck out there. You rock here, you'll rock anywhere!
Weather looking benign for tomorrow. If anyone wants to do some "openers" before the weekend's major sporting event* I'll be at Brooklyn Bridge at 0800 and GWB at 0905.

Riding to Nyack for a coffee and fried/baked goods.

* Le Crunch - Angleterre v XV de France, allez les rosbifs!

Awesome.  If you can't do all of the above, you should absolutely, positively go. If you can do some, you should absolutely, positively go.

I can do all of the above and want to go, though I don't think I can make it, as family demands.
Can't go unfortunately. Learning Trackstands would definitely make my commute more fun though.
Can't make it after being a no-show almost all Sunday the last weekend :(

Sad, I need to learn like... ALL the items in the list.
i'm in, if bottle handling tips includes the 'sticky bottle'
Clinic is postponed until next weekend.
Clinic is postponed until next weekend.
Is this still being scheduled this coming weekend?
I'm fairly sure I can swing this Sunday. Will confirm tomorrow.
Hey @JohnMalcolmson are you still gonna do Sunday?

If not I want to lead a practice group ride.
It will be for the people who are aiming to race and comfortable riding at race pace.

Aiming to practice pacelining on 9w, get donuts then breakaway sessions and sprint practices at rockleigh. Z2 in between... It will be enforced 😂

I am confirming Sunday... @Kevin Man it would be great to have you as co-lead. We can start with a group-ride etiquette check and then head to Rockleigh via whatever route we decide  (looking to be cold again, so prolly low road).

8am BB/9am GW -> Rockleigh Crit course:
After we can go for coffee at Market or Piermont or break off for some hills. Post if joining.
I’m not going to pass up an opportunity to smash, I mean bump into fellow club members. Count me in.
Will be there
Looking forward to it
