I"ll be at the GWB Sunday 9am for the Traditional Ride.
Tomorrow 8 am Brooklyn Bridge. 9 am GWB.

Suggest you bring more food than you think you'll need. As the usual stops might be bypassed.
Given that we only usually stop in Piermont, it sounds like Eloy is bunking to get a good LONG ride in without breaks.

I’m in

Everyone see andy Slavitt's twitter feed?

Eloy, James, Matteo, Patrick, Rich, and me at the GWB.

Eloy turned back in Tenafly.

Matteo and Rich went for donuts in Nyack.

James, Patrick, and I went to Rockland Lake, did a loop, came back.

We linked up with three from Vesselka at the foot of Stateline hill.  We rode steady fast over the hills, and started a rotation by the scout camp.  We then picked up Rich and Matteo and roared to the bridge.

The group could have been a bit tighter, but I think we could have gotten only a little more speed out of the group, and we still rode pretty fast.

Beautiful day.  Gotta do more of these...if it's deemed safe enough.

@Mark Taylor i like your antisocial distancing group ride pic
@James Reeder
all the times you lot dropped me on river road I was actually observing social distancing
^ incredible. A cycling excuse I hadn't heard before. There should be some kind of award.
^^And this one is backed my the CDC
In all seriousness guys, I wouldn't ride in anyone's draft. If you are close enough to draft, you're close enough to get spittle, snot, sweat, etc from whoever is in front of you.

Just one dude's opinion, of course.
@jules
completely agree , must say I actually felt somewhat irresponsible going on this ride with just 1 team mate

My pediatric oncologist neighbor is telling me they are suspending a lot of chemotherapy because they don’t have enough masks and gloves. With all due respect fellas, I think it’s time to hang up the group rides for a bit.
I've hung up the group rides.

I've tried to limit myself on this outdoor riding thing.

But somedays, I just need to get out. for a few hours.

Made it to Nyack.
The Runcible Spoon was closed.
Decided to go to the Orchard.
It, too, was closed.
Saw a Dunkin' Donuts Drive-through was open.
Naah.

(kidding.  the goal was the orchard all along.)

Another solo ride.  this time out to Mahwah.  The goal was to take roads that used to be "busy".

they were pretty empty.

Another solo ride.  this time out to somewheres north of Tarrytown

The busy roads were mostly pretty empty.  The North County Trailway which is usually empty even on nice weekend days, was packed.

Testing out old roads anew is the theme of my solo Sundays.

This time, I went out to Suffern, NY--picking up 202 in Oakland and riding it to Route 59 in Suffern, then starting to head back.  Not quite as far as I remembered, but I could make it longer next time.  No real climbing, but still managed over 4,000' of vertical.

This one’s for the wormhole wizard JP:

Pulled out a route I planned a month or so ago and forgot about. Turns out it included some decommissioned fire roads and muddy singletrack but concluded in the nicest wormhole I’ve ever seen on a non-Kissena ride. I’ve been running, riding, and driving the roads around here for 15 years and was pleasantly surprised to exit a chunky gravel road next to an almost empty park about 2 miles away from home.

Hope everyone’s surviving well and getting outside for some miles when possible!

A pic from before things got a bit hairy:

And juuuust before:

Rode on River road today not knowing what to expect. The entrance by the bridge is still closed to cars. That section to the base of the great wall was busy though with plenty of walkers, hikers and cyclists. Add the cars coming down to the boat basin and that climb became hectic. But from the top to the base of Alpine hill and it's quiet. Cars are banned. A few runners and hikers and cyclists. Not more than what you would expect on a quiet Sunday late morning.
Clearly I've been posting in the wrong place. I did a loop today that used to be the Wednesday Night Worlds, aka "Fox Farm"

Today was +20 miles or so because I rode from home; something I can't do under normal circumstances because the ride ends at sundown. Legs felt like cinders after a relatively long one (for me) yesterday - but I should have found a loop to add 10km more... for symmetry ;)

Perhaps we should start a Social Distancing Solo Saturdays and Sundays thread.

Anyone down to do a Zwift Group ride tomorrow mid morning (figure 10AM EST start time)? I'm shooting to do about 2.5 hours at a nice Z2 pace with some efforts on the hills. Haven't picked out the course yet, but open to suggestions.

We can set up a google video chat like the Tuesday Race Crew does or stick with the companion app to chat.

If you're interested let me know and I'll set up a meetup and invite you!
I usually do 2.5 hours on Zwift starting at 9:30am CT on Saturdays. I'm doing pretty much the same thing; zone 2 with max zone 3 on hills.
Sweet- wanna ride together?
Let's do it. If you start at 10:00 ET, I'll join up with you around 10:30.
Cool. Might join in too. Depends on household organization, but would be great motivation to ride with people. I had fun today.
Works for me- I'll hop on around 10 EST. Any particular course you guys wanna do?
For these longer moderate effort rides, I usually prefer the courses with varying elevation to keep it interesting. Big Foothills is nice. It has climbs to keep things interesting, but they aren’t big enough to push you out of zone. I’m flexible on route.
I was thinking the same thing. I’ll pick something fun that’ll keep us entertained
