Hi Matthew. Welcome.

The pace of the rides depends on the ride - usually people will state their intentions here beforehand so you can know what to expect. Today for example, William has said "Mellow except for the climbs, which will be fierce."

But we will regroup after the "fierce" part. We have a no-drop policy, meaning we won't leave anyone behind, at least not without talking to them first and making sure they know where they are going.

So, c'mon out and find out.
Ryan. You're up
Sleep excuse is lame.
triangle ride is for little wimpy girls.

Well Ragot your berating forces me to say it: I need proper time to coffee up and poop. If I rolled with you I'd have to be up an hour earlier. Now stop texting and driving!
Good times over the GWB with the little rascals. WDC took the sweep, getting the triple berry newtons (which he shared) and the jawbone. We rolled fairly hard down 9W and picked up a lot of Gran Fodder, which was fun. Ryan took the last sprint of the day with a sneak attack! That's what they call "race I.Q." I think.

Eric, I'm inviting myself over for leftovers.
lol . . . Gran Fodder

ryan was on FYAH today!

such good times; nice hanging witchoo all

Jeff's "Fat Boy Special" pulls on 9w shredded friendo and fondo alike

Tuggis is on me next time
"Tuggus" goddamit - TUGGUS

It's spelled with a U.

How many times do I have to tell you knuckleheads

(For those who don't know...yeah, uh, don't ask. You'll be better off).
Fat boy specials are also a bit exaggerated. I know certain points of the false flats where it's fairly easy for me to get "the muffin" momentum rolling at 35+ for quite a while. It's my phony Cancellara fantasy.

Most importantly, we had a Gideon sighting, which is always good.

But there was too much tuggus talk. Glad I'm not riding with Ryan to killington.
^worried
omg what a day. In-credible.

Took the low roads out to Bradley/Tweed (ok got a bit lost going out there) - Bradley hurt. My end-of-semester time away from the bike showed.

9W on the way back I passed many Gran Fondues, littering the route like so many lemon-lime Gu wrappers.

The weather still has me buzzing...so, so glad to be done with my semester and have my life back.
Yeah, today was good one. Good weather and good company.

Thanks to WDC especially for helping me to some power records as I fought like hell to stay glued to his wheel.

In fact, as we neared the top of the watertower climb I thought perhaps the jawbone could be mine...but alas, it slipped through my grasp, and it eludes me yet.

But I'll have it...I'll have it I say...me wants it....

hey all: planning a "family man" hour ride over the GWB tomorrow. will be at BB at around 6:15 am. i don't have a lengthy hallpass, so my plan is to ride over, river road/alpine and back. plan to be back in Brooklyn by 9:45-10 am. ping me here or on my cell 718.501.8666 if you think you might be interested in joining.
We aren't a club of hard-asses, but let it be known that there are a few rules that are worth observing religiously on group rides:

1. Be self-sufficient: bring a flat kit, money, cell phone and ID
2. Wear a helmet. If you show up to a group ride without one, don't expect to ride with the crew.
3. No headphones (Alyosha!)
4. No half-wheeling

This is not a discussion thread - it is a public posting. If there's something you want to add, email me.
is there a plan for tomorrow?
I'd like to be back in Bklyn by 11 or 11:30
Looks like rain so I might take a day off. Done around 250 the last 4 days. But Sunday is looking nice for the lil tor - bear mtn slugfest. Put on your working boots, keith might come if his knee has un-exploded.
Weather looks pretty bad tomorrow, indoor spin it is. I'm definitely up for a Bear Mtn ride on Sunday morning!
What are your timing plans for Bear and back?
9 @ GWB. It's between 120-130 miles depending upon your Brooklyn hizzy. Sooooo.... It also depends upon the speed. Obviously, there's a no drop policy. But generally once we get back to nyack, that is kinda lifted bc some folks have to get home and everyone knows the way. But I'd say with 3-4 stops for fuel, Brooklyn eta @ 2-3-ish. Again, it all depends upon how people are feeling and if Joachim and Chabanov come along....Ouch.

Balls, could make it if we were back before 2
I may join for the 1st half. Can't be home that late.
Likewise ^ Jules we can 2 up home
I'm on a short leash tomorrow a.m. I'll be at BB at 8 and ride up to Piermont or so and turn around.
Sorry guys; gonna stay local. Family time calls.
