I would like to ride on Sunday. Anyone for 8am BB?
I'll be there. 8am Brooklyn bridge.
Oh snap - it's on.
we be jammin'!
Ok, I am new to all this jawbone/thimble business, what are you guys talking about? I am considering joining you all on the 9am GWB ride but I prefer to keep my jaw intact.
Yeah sorry guys, I'm out in California climbing real mountains. William, keep eating chocolate chips and we'll have a jawbone smackdown when I get back.
Hey Kim,

The jawbone and thimble are mini trophies/totems we compete over on our group rides. Silly little things, but they mean a lot when you don't have anything else in your life (Ryan).

The jawbone (a possum mandible I found last year on the side
Of the road) is contested on a single climb chosen by the holder each ride. The thimble is contested over many sprints/climbs on each ride.

We'd be thrilled if you came along tomorrow. We plan to hammer on a few climbs or sprigs, but we regroup after after each one, and if you're not feeling super speedy tomorrow, well make sure You don't get dropped.
Thanks for the explanation, I have been very confused the past few weeks! I am going to try to make it to the GW tomorrow, I'll see you there!
really good times out there today

Gardiner was a fucking MONSTER!  Held me off up the first climb on River Rd, held Perlberg (who had an excellent showing) off on Alpine, won the state line sprint, and dropped Tito and I up the Ash/Tweed/Nike combo.  One man wrecking crew.

for his troubles he won the fluorescent orange argyle socks i brought from my top drawer as a prize.

great meeting kim and seeing a whole gaggle of you dudes.

Gideon and I finished the ride in style: pinkberry
Good times indeed.  David is riding with the strength of ten Grinches, just in time for his wedding it seems...

I tilted at my annual goal of 400 for 5 minutes up Alpine; missed it by that much with a 397... darn.  It's good to have unfinished goals, right?

(The socks were truly gawdafull)

Great to see all the faces - old & new.  Oh, and my chain is currently sitting in a bath of oil.
careful what you say about Gardiner's new KCC Formal Wear . . . my mom bought those socks and she might be reading this forum . . . you never know
Great ride today guys! William thanks for the socks. I will wear them everyday without washing them until the next ride, and then we can give them to the next victorious Kissena. These babies are going to give me that extra swag I have been looking for.

@ William, I'm pretty sure David and his friend are talking shit about your socks on facebook.

It was a really fun ride. I'm beat! Forget pinkberry, I threw some burgers on the grill and ended up eating 3. I think I'm probably still calorie deficient for the day, that was a 2500+ calorie ride.

I tried to shake David on Alpine but could not. He paced the second half, I tried to come around by the finish sign (that JP stole) but could not nip him. 4:49 was my semi-official time. 435 watts averaged. I'm a little burnt out on racing right now, but these numbers suggest I'm hitting some pretty crazy form right now. Either that or I need to recalibrate my powertap. :)

Fun time with all. We visited Mattie D. @ the bike shop and he hooked up a newbie guy tito picked up along the way with a water bottle cage.

Mike, My friends on Facebook are jealous of my amazing magical socks. And those are some crazy strong numbers, no wonder I got a PR on strava for that segment.
@Mike Definitely a good ride. Humbling to be on the best form of my life and *still* get taken to the woodshed Marcellus Wallace style by you gifted athletes.

I opted for French onion soup and some kind of salad with egg and whatnot. Was too tired to pay attention. Am now mostly zonked out next to my son.

Burgers for dinner :)
I didn't win the socks today, but I TOTALLY nabbed the Bonehead Backscratcher.
Us little guys get to talk too.

I took third behind Wacky William and David G on River Rd., third behind Wacky William and David G on the state line sprint, and a tremendous SECOND* to David G on the pre-Strictly hill sprint (*Wacky William wasn't even there because he was scairt and/or wanted to ride 20 more miles than the rest of us).

HOWEVER, I did take the Jeff Owens Memorial Exxon Sign Sprint in First Place, though it was uncontested out of respect. Opinions varied as to whether I was allowed to sprint due to my name also being Jeff.
Oh yeah, we were sailing along and some asshole comes stomping up on some super-janky beater on the West Side Highway screaming something along the lines of, "WHAT, no jersey and suddenly I'm invisible?!"

As the caboose man, I scornfully let up so this questionable individual could catch, and after like ten seconds of whatever small talk a guy on a $4,000 carbon race bike can have with a guy on a $40.00 girl's single-speed that's skipping chain links every other pedal stroke, he blurts out that he's riding over to see his new baby boy, Peter Bertucco. Well I'll be!
lol

marc is the man

everybody give his eProps, cause he just became a dad
Hey William, those socks are taking me on a magical journey.
Hello from the Basque Country
Hot in this one
Nice Dave. I need some of those magic socks.
Magic socks!
Looking for a long ride tomorrow. Anyone else want to utterly destroy their legs to prepare for L&C?
I'm game. It's time to remind my legs who's boss.
Can't make it, but there's a new talisman in town.

KRAKEN FLIPPER

Probably for "most aggressive rider"
MINE.
