Not sure if your question is directed at the Brooklyn dudes who ride together to the JERSEY SIDE of the GEORGE WASHINGTON BRIDGE to meet everyone at 9am, but just in case there was some poor communication going on, I want you to know that the traditional Sunday (and this week Saturday) ride "begins" in Jersey. Of course you tough Brooklynites do it up strong with extra miles by necessity.

Great ride everyone on Saturday! Looking forward to another nice day tomorrow. Chamois creme, tubular flat fix slimey stuff, and Clif Bar prizes will be on hand. If the mini ice skating rink has melted away, we'll hit the Rockleigh industrial park for sprints. 9am GWB.

David completed the sweep, winning the KOM for socks and sprint for a cap. Das ist süß! He should be the protected rider at battenkill for cat 4's. Already in great shape. See you guys tomorrow (unless I wake up super sore).

Great ride today dudes! Sorry to miss the big group Saturday but we had a respectable crew today. Looking forward to more team stuff...next up tactics talk and then the velodrome session.

Thanks everyone for coming out to ride today. The crit course melted sufficiently, and we were able to get in a few hot laps, plus a "Win and Out" race to work on positioning, tactics and sprinting. From there some of the group motored home, while others continued north and beat the snot out of each other (or maybe I'm the only one that feels beat up), before we rolled home on 9W with a nice rotating paceline.

While cranking home on 9W we passed a few park race regulars, and one of these guys jumped into our rotation (the others rode caboose). Now, this guy riding in our rotation, in and of itself was/is not a problem (he was strong/smooth enough not to mess up the flow), however it would have been nice if he rolled up to someone in the group and asked if he could rotate in before assuming that it was okay.

So if you are out and want to latch onto a group for whatever reason, do the right thing and first ask, "Do you mind if I ride with you guys?" We're a very open, welcoming club, it's one of the things I love about Kissena, but that doesn't mean we should forget our manners.

I ended the day with 92 miles logged and the snot thoroughly beaten out of me. Basically Gideon and JP never let off the gas for long.

As for the paceline interloper, I figured he talked to someone, but if he didn't i do agree it is weird to jump in to a group who are clearly wearing matching kits.

The paceline interloper is a guy I know. He's been racing for years. I wasn't worried because I knew we could trust he'd ride safely. I had assumed he had checked in with Marc. When we passed the WS United guys, I suggested they rotate with us; they chose not to. A pity; bigger could have been faster. And, on the good side, Mike took the sprint from Ricky Lowe. Nice going for a non-sprinter, though Gideon and I were, unbeknownst to Mike, working on leading him out. I drilled it down the hill and opened up when the rise started to bite, when I faltered, Gideon took over.

Fun day. For those who didn't make the trip with us, know that Rockland Lake still has significant snow.

Nice ride Saturday, fellas. Thanks to Marc for keeping us newbies organized.

I plan on riding north from the GWB at 9am and get in some hill work (at a moderate pace). Anyone interested? If so, see you at the bridge. I'll wait a few min.

I forgot that Saturday is the velodrome day. I still need the miles and hills and may not have much opportunity to ride Sunday so I'll still be at the bridge Saturday. For those of you going to the velodrome - enjoy! It should be a beautiful day.

Hey any of you non-Sunday racers willing to lead the traditional Sunday Kissena ride? It's an easy job, show up at 9am on the Jersey side of the GWB with some manner of Kissena garb on, wait a bit for latecomers, go for a ride, make sure no one gets dropped, point people in the right direction if they want to turn back early. You don't even have to do the traditional Kissena route, mix it up. Decide amongst yourselves.

We just want to make sure there is always a weekend group ride option for the club...even during racing season.

While I'm not planning on leading this ride again for a while, it woud be great to get this as a regularly scheduled weekly event. Just one person has to take the reins. Call it early. Let others know. Most will be happy to have someone leading.

I'm reposting Marc's plea, because I think it's a good idea.

I'll lead a ride on Sunday departing GWB at 9AM up to at least Bradley Tweed and on to to Rockland Lakes if anyone wants the distance (with the usual earlier turnaround points). The pace will be relaxed to moderate, except on the climbs, where 95% of you will be faster than me. Try to chime in you think you're coming so I have a rough idea of how many to expect. My cell is 917-579-6580. Please call me if you're running later than the standard 5 minute grace period.

Neil, thanks for the compliment but that wasn't me on 9W Saturday. I was on LI - did the triangle ride and then added some miles. I saw Patrick G. on the triangle ride Sunday. I think that was him you saw.
