I'll be there Norm!
What's the word on kit-less new members on the weekend rides?

If I'm not in the Orange and Blue would I be run off the road? ;)

All Kissenas are welcome, even those without pants.  So long as your blood runs orange & blue, you are one of us :)
indeed, Kissena riders frequently forego pants to reduce weight and increase aerodynamic efficiency.  these benefits come at the cost of increased expenditures on chamois butter and, all too frequently, citations for public indecency.  but only if one rides slow enough to be caught.  the technique is particularly effective on race days, where it diminishes the free-riding wheel-sucker effect through sheer unwillingness to stare into another rider's exposed buttocks.  no pants, no pulls.

i also don't have any kit and they haven't kicked me off the group rides yet! yet.

tomorrow looks like it might rain in the morning . . . typical for my first group ride of the year

anyone want to do some laps in CP to hedge against being stuck far away in cold rain?
WDC,
Join us on Sunday for the big convocation of Kissena rouleurs.

I might be down for some cold, wet miles in Central Park.  It has to be cold enough though.

lol

i know how you have a certain Misery Quotient that must be met before you leave your apartment.

unfortunately, i won't be in the city on Sunday, although i really do need some KCC bro-down time.

any other takers for tomorrow in CP?
Im in pa....whats a gwb rally point in case i can make it

Meh - I borrowed a trainer from the shop just for this purpose.  No reason to suffer in the wet when I can suffer while watching Battlestar Galactica.

but...ol' Willy rides again!  Huzzah!
uh, anybody got some spare wheels I can borrow for the Sunday ride? Shimano. A cassette installed is fine, or I have cassettes if not.

email me: normswygert@gmail.com

there are probably other options closer to your house, but i have a wheels for you.

if the furniture pick-up works out tomorrow, i can drop them off.

you have my number!
Thanks WDC --I think I gotta solution to my revolutionary impass.
WDC,  I think I may be ready to roll Saturday a bit after 9 for a few hours.

The meetup is 8am on the Brooklyn side of the BB - but if you just wait on the Manhattan side for the sea of Kissenas crossing and join in, that should work.

Winter bike regular bike, up to you. Bring fenders if you have them, the roads will probably be wet. And if they are dry, even better (bring your fenders anyway).
What Josh said.

I'll be at the jersey side of the GWB at 9am rain or shine.

WDC, we could have done your one-day training camp in CP.
Im likely out but will be riding

thanks for joining in for the fare-the-well beers fellas --sorry the knife show-down didn't go as planned.
Coming from bb. Might take a second to get over gwb as i don't know way through wash heights

ouch. norm's farewell beers snuck up on me. slept through 2 alarms. I'm heading out to prospect for some steady riding, if you are in the same boat as me feel free to come out and grab my wheel.

Ah, nap accomplished.

Thanks to JP, Marc, Eric, and David for taking us out to Rockleigh school this morn. Last time I went out for this ride it was too icy to practice crit skills, but today, although wet (and with the sudden appearance of a doped-up speed bump on the back side of the course) we had a good time going at some laps. And the guys were very kind to offer me the win on the mock crit race so that I could say farewell on a high note. Or did you guys hear how long Portland winters are and decided to help me get the Kissena sock prize the better to keep my feet warm? Either way, you fellas are sweet mates!

David took the cat 4 and 5 crowd home and kept us rotating nicely on rte9. The upper ranks stayed out for a longer ride with JP, Marc, and Eric and probably practiced some intricate echelon patterns. But they'll have to provide the intel on their activities.

It was a fun day and it was nice to see a few new (and newish) Kissenas out there.

I'll be here on the boards from time to time and look forward to you guys visiting and riding with me in PDX. Thanks again and farewell to all you dudes --I've enjoyed pedalling around the region with you guys and, well, I will miss you!

Cheers,
Norm
Sniff. Gonna miss you too Norm.
