I had the hub rebuilt last month and it's giving me trouble again. Bigger issue is the cracked rim.
Thierry, that would be amazing! Let's coodinate — I'm emtarte@gmail.com
@dstokes, That would be perfect. I'll email you and we can coordinate a pick-up.
I will be the lone dissenter here and say I've never (knock wood) had
problems with my Mavics and I beat them pretty good.

That said- Ebay is a great resource for very cheap wheels. Same Mavics can
prob be had for around $200+ when stripped OEM from a new bike. Take a look
and see what's out there.

Great!!
@Erika, I have a set of Kysrium's with flat spots on the rims (bad pothole at Floyd), only 50 miles or so on them. You can have them. Hubs/spokes are in great shape. Front wheel may even be usable as is.
@Erika - You're welcome to borrow my Saris 3 bike rack as well if you can't coordinate with Stokes for whatever reason.  It'll come complete with the official "Yang Sock System" if you so wish.
Holy cow.

Erika, please let the team know YOU are also looking for a Specialized Tarmac SL4 Frame in Satin Gloss/white/Carbon/red in size 61 (tell them you expect to grow into it), along with any spare set of Zipp 404s anyone has laying around in the basement (but let them know you're really hopeful it's the Firecrest Zipps, but you understand if they're not).

We'll work out a deal later. . .
Also, a beach house in the Hamptons.

Anyone have a set of clip-on aerobars they'd be willing to lend for the summer or sell cheap?

(If not, Erika, could you post that for me again in a day or two?)
@JP didn't you like to an article explaining why clip on aero bars were essentially worthless?

don't think so.  I think that if you're time trialing at 19mph or above, they're probably worthwhile.  Though if you're setting them up on your road bike without adjusting your seat position, you're probably better off with fairly short extensions and going narrow.

Does anyone have extra MTB shoes for clipless non platform pedals I could borrow? Size 8 womens.
Call me all experiential-education and such, but if somebody has some hanging around, I'd like to try them out and see if they work for me and my setup. I have enough time before my race to do some repeated tests to find out the best setup. It's only a 10K TT, but it seems like if there is a potential to shave a second, I should chase it.
A second?  You should get more than that by riding in the drops.
My giro air attack helmet has definitely improved my solo riding in terms
of aerodynamics, and it's not too hot. Praise Joachin for the recommend

Best,

-Eric

Gwynna, head over the training thread for my thoughts on this...
Anybody have an acoustic guitar case that would be sturdy enough for airline travel?

Buy, borrow or rent I'd need it for August.
@Jules‌- checking or carry on?
Checking
@Jules, I would VERY strongly advise against checking an acoustic guitar. I've travelled with a full size acoustic a handful of times, and never had an issue. At the very least, gate check it so it goes on last.
Thanks Jesse. CAN you take an acoustic guitar as carry on? Where would it fit? It's not enough to warrant it's own ticket. I've seen some impressive hard shell ABS cases for checking.
Policies vary by airline, but generally you can carry them on. Just takes up one whole overhead baggage bin and makes 5-10 people hate you. Worth it to avoid finding yourself with a guitar case full of toothpicks.

Another thing to consider, which I've done for a bit of travelling, is to buy/borrow/rent a Baby Taylor or Big Baby. They're smaller, but still play pretty well, and sound half decent for the price/size.
Thanks @Jesselash I'll check with the airline.  On the one hand I'll be traveling with three kids, a wife and a kid's guitar anyway, so I'm already THAT GUY.  On the other hand, on the awkward scale, an extra guitar would pretty much put me into GLOBAL THERMONUCLEAR WARFARE mode...

honestly it'd be easier to get a $50 craigslist guitar at your desitnation;  electric guitars in hard cases are checkable; an acoustic guitar needs a heavy ATA-style case.

Hey guys, I'm looking for a tiny little saddlebag, just enough for spare tube and CO2, for my mtb (just races, I carry real stuff when I go ride). Don't care how beat up, nasty, moldy, whatever. Thought I'd see if anyone has one hanging around before I throw my money at some cheapo one.
@Gwynna, how tiny?  I have an old Delta one you can have that attaches to the saddle rails that can clip on and off.  Let me know.
