Myles was filing the permits for spring series last I heard.
Does this mean there are going to be barriers on Harlem Hill?

Seriously...seriously?

WE have dates.  I think there will be five races.  Announcement in the new year.
Doughnut primes...

Rode through the park this morning on my way to a meeting and low and behold....

Most of the largest areas with problems have been "smoothed over". The quality of the work is lacking in some places but its better than it was.

Amazing! Apparently the letter helped?
My carbon wind cleavers breathe a le sigh of relief.....
Mayor de Blasio and the Parks Department’s Parks Without Borders initiative will fund $50 million in improvements to city parks to make them more open, accessible and inviting to their surrounding communities. $40 million has already been allocated, but the remaining $10 million of funding is still available, and will be awarded to projects based on community input.

ONE OF THE PROPOSALS IS TO REPAVE PROSPECT PARK LOOP. I would encourage you all to vote for this improvement.

To do so:

1. Visit the Parks Without Borders website
2. Zoom in on Prospect Park in the map there
3. Click on the green outline of Prospect Park in the map
4. A bunch of check boxes will appear ... check "Repair paving"
5. In the box below "
Describe what you would like to see in this area (optional)" type something along the lines of: "Please repave the Prospect Park Loop, which has fallen into terrible disrepair and is covered with numerous large, dangerous potholes."
6. Hit Submit.

From Prospect Park Alliance:

Hello all,

The Prospect Park Alliance is seeking outgoing Volunteer Greeters to provide valuable assistance to the millions of visitors to Prospect Park. Greeters will improve the visitor experience during large events on weekends and select evenings by greeting event attendees and providing information about the Park and the Alliance. The position will last from April to October, and will help raise awareness of the Alliance while engaging visitors with the park.

We would appreciate if you would share this information with your groups, and others that may be interested in taking part. A full description and application - which is due by Monday, February 15 - can be found here:  https://www.prospectpark.org/get-involved/volunteer/volunteer-greeter-application/

Please let me know if you have any questions, and I look forward to seeing you at next week’s Community Committee meeting.

Best,

Bugger all that. Park is hiring GOATS to tend the lawn. What could possibly go wrong?

FYI....Saw a sign up today that West Drive is being repaved from 3/28-4/15.

There goes my built in excuse for not finishing a 1/2/3 race...
What's the latest on the repaving work?
On Sunday, it was like butter to 9th street, and then like ropey pahoehoe to the bottom of the downhill.
Anyone happen to scope out the scenario as of tonight?
Yeah, I'm wondering: is it possible yet to ride complete loops, or are there still sections that are entirely off limits?
Well I'm up for finding out tomorrow morning.
Check the other PP thread for my update on the surface. I would say that as long as they aren't actually working on the road (0700-1700) the full loop is perfectly rideable.
Got stopped by an officer at PP last night. Immediately started racking my brain; no red lights ran, headlight/tail light in full working order, helmet etc etc etc...turns out he just wanted cycling "tips"
@RileyHoonan wow!! Hope you gave him some good ones :)
I saw a commuter pulled over by a cop in PP Thursday morning at around 9 AM, right before the hill. I didn't see the cyclist run a light but I'm guessing by the look on the guys face, he was getting a ticket.
@Kasia Nikhamina well I definitely told him about this great bike shop in dumbo... ;)

Amazing :) love it.
It's my personal goal to get as many cops in bikes as possible. It will
make them better cops!
What team has black kit with large "HH" on it?
Happy and Healthy that is run by Alex Mateucci
This one? This is from last week's Floyd via SKN photo
Yeah those guys. Thanks.

Not exactly Prospect Park...
would take years, but would be great.

I'd be surprised if it goes thru. Other than the manhattan bridge, the cycling solutions for bridges in New York City, specially the Brooklyn Bridge and George Washington Bridge, are a complete embarrassment and a total failure of NYC urban planning.
