Craig, chances are the big pros will have their own warm-up equipment...so no worries about being embarrased. However, bring a sharpie and have Tim Johnson sign your trainer! Also - I'm looking over the new start times and wondering how the 35+ 4/5 field will race with the open 4/5 field if the 35+ race is 10mins longer. If the two fields are effectively racing together shouldn't the race time be the same? Otherwise the 35+ guys will do their last lap through a bunch of people doing a cool down lap. Maybe I'm missing something - like getting finishers off the course immediately. Just trying to figure it out, since us old guys bump into things more easily and also fall and can't get up.
As far as your other concerns? Holy cripes...you are right. Having separate 4/5 and 4/5 35+ fields, with the 35+ field racing 10 minutes longer? That's just asking for trouble. The officials, for one, will never get the results right. Because I GUARANTEE you, the front of the 35+ field is going to ride well through the back of the regular 4/5 field currently starting 1 minute in front. Not to mention the problem you mention. I don't know why, as I suggested earlier, we don't have just have one 64-rider field, make everyone race 40 minutes, and be done with it. If you want to have separate prize lists, fine,...officials are good at making that distinction...they did it with no problem at Northampton.

There is another issue: The Sunday Juniors 10-14 starts at 8:36 and there are 3 fields that start at 8:45. They are all 40 mins but I'd expect you want the starts staggered at about 1 min intervals. The 8:36 should be 8:46.
Don't know if this is intentional, but the Women 3/4, ECCC Women's B field, & Masters Women 35+ 3/4 are 30 mins on Saturday and 40 mins on Sunday

Hey Gang - on Sunday is anyone is sticking around till after the 3/4 race and then driving back to Brooklyn\Queens\Long Island ?
My wife is coming up for the day to help out but has to get home at an earlier hour than me. A ride back to Astoria for her (or the subway somewhere reasonable) would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, I don't want to be nudgey...but with 600+ entries shit just got real...and I need all the help I can get (#becauseSterling&NBX)...so I noticed that Rene shares a name with a 45 year-old dude in Cali...and so crossresults puts him ahead of a few of us regular Kissena crossers on the start line. Aaron, I was going to make a joke about you learning this weekend whether your girlfriend is "in it to win it." But then I thought...some real advice would be better. Namely, with temps this cold, it becomes important for the racer to have lots and lots of clothing options. Some folks will put on new kit (or just new tops) for their first race after they've sweated through their warm-up clothes during hotlaps. You may be able to get away with wearing the same-ish gear for warm-up and first race, BUT you will absolutely need new DRY kit for your second race.
And of course lots of warm dry gear for in between duties when not racing.
So bring your big race bag this weekend everyone and pack it FULL of all that stuff you bought.

21 degrees is the forecast for Brooklyn. At some elevation up in Harriman expect at least 3-4 degrees colder. But maybe it doesn't matter too much at that point.

Special Volunteer Request:
We need PIT ID badges for all elite racers.
Here is the task I need help completing. It can be handled by one person or broken up between a few.
#1: Create a 3x4 inch (landscape) logo that says Supercross Cup, includes the sponsor log, and has a rider #. even more pro would include racer name. I'll be able to get you racer names and # by the end of the day.
#2: Find some lanyards like this to put the ID badges in. See if you can figure out some local pickup option.
#3: Print the logos on card stock, insert in ID holders. Organize them by number in a shoe box. Make sure they get to registration by Saturday morning.

For Realz! Supercross needs YOU (yang, please meme that that Homer) and I don't mean maybe. Previous years Myles has had about half that amount (not counting the 2x bump we got because Staten was cancelled)
Myles just double his order of portapotties, and we are preparing for a full on Horde. This is all good, but it means we need more volonteers.
We need six, count 'em six more volonteers for each day. This race is going to be big, bad and bodacious.
If you were already planning to race, take a cold hard look in the mirror and as yourself; do you love Cross? If so, make a plan to volonteer when you aren't racing.
If you weren't planning to race (my toe hurts, etc) take an even longer look in the mirror and dig deep. The club only asks for help once or twice a year but we always mean it when we say

Just a bump - I've got two ride spots open for Saturday and one for Sunday.
Saturday leaving Brooklyn at 5:45ish and staying late to help with course change over.
Sunday leaving Brooklyn even earlier (in time for KCC champ race) but returning to Brooklyn by early afternoon.
