So I'm bringing coffee and donuts to the race. Got it.

Front row here I come!

Are you kidding me? I'm putting myself in the 1st row and Joe, Konrad, Todd and Joaquin in the last row. No mercy.

That's ok.  I'm planning to stake out a few course shortcuts that only I'll know about.

Woah....

Ben Berden and Nicole Duke...the 2nd 1st Couple in Cyclocross...first of the elites to be signed up for MOAR Super. For reals?

Interesting because last year Berden was in prime position to take over a top spot in the season-long battle for 40,000 grand pro CX prize purse. Can't remember if it was 1st place, or 3rd, but it was significant. He was signed up to race, but was a no-show and dropped in the points and effectively out of the competition for podium.

This year, he's already rocking some outstanding results...wonder if he and Nicole have their eye on a bonus check at the end of the season to help them make some little cross babies?
Timmerman finally has two legs to race with; my money's on him.
.
Many thanks to the willing vict I mean generosity of fellow Kissenas (with poorly set Facebook privacy settings) for making this possible.

And Betty white

Hey Folks - Registration for the Supercross Cup is open. We already have 100+ riders registered over a month out from the event. This indicates we might have really big fields!

Please, if you plan on racing, or know friends who are racing, register now. Registration to events kinda gains momentum when racers see fields filling. We can better plan for the event when we know what kind of scale we are dealing with. Think all of those mundane details... adequate porta potties, food trucks, ordering enough numbers, etc. etc.

Thanks so much!

Get all the foodtrucks. Lobster roll and waffels are important. Obvs.

We have food trucks! My buddy scott will be there with his truck Fork in the Road that was a big hit last year as well as a few others.

The point is, 2 trucks are fine for 300 racers. If we know we'll have 600, we can make different plans. With bigger pre-reg we can also entice more & cooler stuff. Think demo bikes, expo tents, etc.

Anyone who is willing to commit to significant volunteering (4 hours = 1 free race) can email Josh to get registered in their field of choice.

edit: we'll let you know how to redeem volunteer credit when we figure it out.

Not sure who was serving up vegan chili, but someone on FB mentioned looking forward to it specifically. Also, are there plans to have Rockland County businesses there with eats?
I think it was Mike's friends food truck. They had some good eats.

Scott (my friend) will have vegan options.

yup, Myles is on that stuff.
All.  First this is copied from the CX thread to here.

Hello KCC members.  It's nearly everyone's favorite time of the year, November!  Time for Cyclocross.

Once again Supercross is back at Anthony Wayne Recreation Area, across the street from Bear Mountain.
Once again Supercross is bringing top quality racing mere minutes from NYC.

Ok.  so it's more like 30-40 minutes.  But that's really just extra time for road trip playlists.

Once again, we are seeking the help of the members of the cycling club to help out with set up, and day to day logistics at the event, Nov 22, 23rd.

Volunteers that help out for two shifts (four hours) can do one race for free.  Please sign up here

https://www.volunteersignup.org/Q9PB4

New this year... volunteer waivers courtesy of our benevolent overlords in Colorado. Download and fill one out here if you can, we will have onsite ones as well.

http://www.usacycling.org/forms/waiver.php?url=volunteer_release.pdf

Please also note.  We've still got bonuses for signing up early.  A few Palisades mall gift cards still exist, which will be followed by dave and busters gift cards, then some stir crazy gift cards.  Even though YOU race for free and receive a comp'd entry, provided you do so early and we still have stock, you will receive one.

Additionaly, every competitor receives a coupon book from the Mall, as well as a Dave and Busters "$20 free with purchase of a regular game card" card.   Why is this important?   Happy hour, Saturday Nov 22nd 730-830pm at Dave and Busters in the mall.  What's better than that??

For those looking for inexpensive hotels in the area to save on driving home, tolls, driving back, losing sleep, we have several going.

Super 8 has rooms for 95$/night for our staff, which includes 6am breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, and a late check out (2pm) on Sunday.   Standard room w. two beds.

Holiday Inn in Orangeburg has rooms for 105/night for staff, 6am breakfast both race days, and 4pm checkout on Sunday.   Standard room w two beds.

Both are 20-30 minutes away, close to the mall/happy hour/dinner etc, tonnes of parking, etc.  These details haven't been made public yet, as there are definitely finite quantities available.

To sign up for the race?
-Select whichever course duty you wish to perform (Thanks!)

-FILL OUT THE WAIVER

-Send an email to this address jcaesar.bike@gmail.com   Joshua will generate an individual one time use ONLY coupon code for Bikereg.

-go to https://www.bikereg.com/supercross and sign up for your free race as normal, utilizing your coupon code when prompted.

Number pick up will be as normal, with whatever incentive you've qualified for attached.  Thanks again!

Thanks again for the incredible support last season, very much looking forward to this years event!
Second.  As per food/drink, none of this has yet to be made public.   But, at this early date it appears like

Were having beer.

And hard apple cider.
Bad ass Cidery is looking to offer their wares during the elite races both on Saturday and Sunday.
Food wise?  Rockland Roots Farm to table food truck will be in attendance.  As mentioned above, Michael P's buddy from Jersey is returning, to offer incredible products as well.  Currently in negotiations with Gypsy donoughts and "the pie lady".  Because who doesn't like pie?

Thats the early scoop. More details will be forthcoming.  Volunteer sign up is open, and please enter and sign up early.  FILL OUT THE WAIVER.  Partially so I don't get sued, and mostly so I can actually know who to thank for all the help I get without 2 million phone calls to Jules and going through the background of grainy pictures trying to ID people.

Thanks!

Myles

Got six free entries for KCC members this sat.

Two- go general labor. Whatevs.
If there is a job you'd love to do, or think you'd kick ass (eg Phil ruling as a crossing marshall last year!) Pick it.

Sign the waiver!
M
Myles, as always, you are the best 'cross promoter on this team. No matter what I say about you.

Would you rather we sign up for "whatevs, dude, I'm your slave" or pick an actual task? 'Cause I can pick something, but I'm really in the slave category as long as I'm not "racing" (by which I mean riding in circles getting in the way of people trying to go fast).
Sign up for the "whatevs dude" category please. Unrestricted donations of your time are greatly appreciated!

10/29 - aaannnd Myles already said this. Well, whatever, it's reinforced now.

Thanks for volunteering.

GoPro rentals at Supercross.

Like Phil said on fb - Curious what that winning move was that made you podium? (Or ended up DFL)? Sign up for Supercross, rent a GoPro, and find out.

$5 for a single race.
$15 for an all day rental.

Sign up for the same time slot as your race. The rental company will set it up ahead of time for you and download all your photos and video after.

Sign up for the cameras at bikereg.com/supercross .

Then email me and tell me you are volunteering and I'll give you a coupon code to cover your races that day!
jcaesar.bike@gmail.com
Joshua or Myles - can I email you guys my volunteer waiver now? Or just hand to you the day off?
Either is fine. If you are emailing email it to me please.

Cross posted request:

So Myles is heading up to the Supercross venue this weekend to dream up wicked fun for us all. I was hoping one of you with a GoPro or similar camera might be available to go up and join him and film some of the fun. As you know, racers often look online for course "recon" information when deciding whether to go to a race and while I will be posting/highlighting last year's footage, I think it would be cool if we got some "preview" material as well.

Anyway, not the end of the world, if no GoPro owners can't join him, but if you are looking for a little cross practice, with probably the team's best crossers (help us all, if Myles could ever find time to train), this might be a good opportunity to kill two birds...you know?
I would highly advise anyone considering racing club championships to remember Myles' first rule of 'cross:

always wear toe spikes.

These guys make nice ones….quick shipping etc. And they sponsor some CT cross races

Just a reminder that we still need help on race day, both days. If you have a few hours to spare in between races, please show your love for the club and your fellow racers and volunteer for something.

If you're not racing, why not come up and check out what this crazy new sport is all about, and how you can get into it, then volunteer in between.

In all seriousness, helping out at Super Cross is a great way to give back to the club, right? So please sign up here: https://www.volunteersignup.org/Q9PB4 and fill out one of these http://www.usacycling.org/forms/waiver.php?url=volunteer_release.pdf

And if you will be helping out, just remember the weather, it'll be cold, maybe wet.. so dress in layers.

All.   Hotel accommodations are vanishing rapidly.  Super 8 in Nyack has a staff rate (read volunteer types) of $75 for a king room, $85 for a two double bed room.   For Kissenas that are racing and not working/volunteering, it's 85/95 a night.   This includes early breakfast at 6am, and a late check out on Sunday (like 2...if you need late late check out the holiday inn does that. )

Logistically to travel to the race, race, head home, pay tolls n gas, unload the car, re load the car, drive, pay tolls n gas, race, return, it's likely not far off the price, and you can pick up an hour or so of sleep...   AND be 3 minutes away from Happy hour on Saturday night.  Just sayin.  PM me for additional details or reach me at mylesromanow@gmail.com
