Thanks!
Hi all, Supercross Cup could still use a few more volunteers:

You know the drill:
  • Race for free
  • Raffle Van Dessel complete bike
  • Raffle Van Dessel CX Frame
  • Nokia Watch
  • Make the race awesome.
hey Anthony just reading this. I'm leaving UES on Saturday morning but unfortunately i left my bike racks at the in-laws so shipping people and a bike in the car might be a little tight, but we might be able to make it work. i am also giving Scott and Janet a ride back.
Anthony - See if it works with Will but if not shoot me a text and I can arrange to swing by and grab you.

I'm gonna ride out to the course on Sunday and work the afternoon / evening but I'm looking for a ride back after course tear-down, in the evening, with room for a bike
Racing and volunteering tomorrow and need a ride back to the city at some point. Anyone have room for one more and a bike?
I'm going up early Sunday morning all day till teardown.  I don't have a rack, but should be able to fit an extra bike and person to/from Brooklyn.
I now suddenly have a rental car leaving 6 AM tomorrow from GWB, room for one more bike and, I guess, three more people.  text me (774) 219-4511

I am volunteering all day tomorrow, won't be driving back until we're done with whatever needs doing
So much fun today!!!

I’m looking for a ride up to the course tomorrow morning (cat 4 race and volunteering). Is anyone headed up from the city with a spare seat and room for a bike?
Good luck racing today everybody. I never got  my transportation squared away, so I won’t make it up today. Have fun!!
Sounds like you guys really crushed it this weekend. Congrats all on raising the bar. Never easy!
I saw a bunch of photographers at the race, does anyone know where they posted their images?
Victor posts to Facebook. Eloy on instagram. Not sure about Marco. Look at crossresults. There will be links
Victor posted some photos here:

I've gotta thank Patrick Grehan for doing a rather exceptional job of volunteerizing the entire weekend, and of course the KCC fan base for pitching in and helping out.  More later, I must retreat to my coffin and sleep until next fall.

Oh @Brendan Rigby, check "To be determined" on IG courtesy of Daghan Perker, Marco Quezada all over facebook (and usually CN/VN/ETC), Eloy anzola posts to everything via groovy lab, et all, dirtwire does videos as per above, and I did see inthecxhairs as well.

This happened.

How did I miss that!
Yesss I’ve been waiting for a photo like that
Is that Myles?

If you were there, you'd know.

The only thing lacking from Supercross was a little Yack-Fu.
They gonna let me race this thing on Saturday?...cause it ain't got no down tube and cross rules are weirder than the sport

KISSSENA needs YOUR help!

The weekend before Thanksgiving, (Nov 17-18) Kissena will be sponsoring the Rockland County Supercross Cup. That’s right, our club puts on one of the best races in the Northeast, and definitely the best race close to NYC. It's gonna be awesome.

We need YOUR help! The success of this race depends upon our volunteers and KISSENA in particular. I have emailed several members that I know directly. If you haven't heard from me or responded, please reach out to me so we can coordinate your participation: livetoridebikes@gmail.com

There are a multitude of roles in which you could contribute whose time commitment could range from a few hours to all weekend. The amount of time is up to you. The more Kissena members we have pitching in the less there is a need for members to put in longer efforts.

People available for a few hours can help with registration, marshaling, course setup, tear down, or other similar tasks. Those with more time will fill roles as captains that will be in charge of a particular area (like the power wash area and nearby course crossings) and manage the volunteers assigned to that area.

Benefits:

  • Feel good putting on an awesome race
  • Have fun with your teammates and see what they look like without spandex and goofy orange helmets
  • Get your registration fee reimbursed if you are racing
  • Race in the Club CX champs
  • Get entered into one of several volunteer raffles. Raffle details will be finalized soon. In the past two years Max Thorn and Phil Maronilla won complete Van Dessel CX bikes. Others won wheel sets, Silca tools and Nokia smart watches. Stay tuned
  • The more you volunteer the better your raffle chances

The race venue is less than 40 minutes from the GWB by car and JP has posted directions on how to get there via train (scroll up through this thread). Historically, team members have carpooled to the race, although some have shared cheap housing in the area. Our greatest manpower needs are early in the morning on Saturday and Sunday (registration is swamped) and Sunday after 5pm. We also have a need for help with setup on Thursday or Friday. We are willing to accept any reasonable offer for help. The more people chip in the better for everyone.

If you want to sign up for one or two volunteer slots, use the volunteer sign up sheet here. Email me if you are available for a larger portion of the day (or multiple days) and might want to be a captain (no need to use the form). Either way, everyone is entered into the raffles etc. Also, consider helping with setup Thursday or Friday or tear down Sunday if you are available.

Post comments or questions on this thread or email me or text me at 516-987-6404 and I'll answer your questions.

Thanks!

Patrick
